Thread: Annoying Tag Problem

  1. #1

    Default Annoying Tag Problem

When tag information on files, already contained in Mezzmo's database, are changed Mezzmo does not update the information in it's database.
    Example...
    - if I change an artists name from "John David Souther" to "JD Souther" within the files tag, Mezzmo retains the artists name as "John David Souther" within it's database, regardless of what settings are ticked off when maintaining the database.
The only way to get Mezzmo to display the correct file tag information, after a change has been made, is to delete the database and start from scratch. This is VERY annoying and should not be so! Surely a fix can be implemented to correct this flaw?!

Those tags should be updated if you use the "Update all information" in Maintenance. Can you please confirm that you're using the latest released v2.3.2?

Yes, I am using version 2.3.2.0

Within the "Update Your Mezzmo Library" dialog box, I have the following checked...
    -Update information about media files...
    -Music files
    -Update media properties
    -Update all files...
-Remove media files from your Mezzmo library...
Mezzmo does not update the file information in the database, reflecting the changes I've made in the actual files tag.
I've tried checking and unchecking settings, nothing appears to correct this.

Strange, as it should update. Perhaps we're not reading the right tag - could you please zip up and send that file to support (at) conceiva (dot) com and I'll check it out? Also, what software are you using to update the tags?

I'm using TagScanner and this occurs with any file I change, not just 1 or 2 specificaly.
I'm streaming flac and ape files mainly, I'll zip one that I'm fighting with right now and send it.
