Handling large music collection
Mezzmo looks good and I'm willing to change over to it. I have a large collection of music (about 60,000 music files). Currently I'm using Helium to organize and play all my music. This works fine, but I'm now very interested in sharing all my music to other devices (PS3, home theater) in my home. Can Mezzmo handle 60,000 files? How does it compare with Helium for organizing?
Thank you, John.

Thanks for asking, John.
Mezzmo is able to handle large collections - our own tests exceeded 150.000 music/photo/video files and it is running well.
There is an update coming out shortly (I'll post a note in this forum once it's out) that increases overall performance of importing and browsing files, so that will make handling a large collection even easier.
Mezzmo allows you to organize your collection in many ways, including smart playlists that allow you to specify different criteria for files or active playlists that are built up automatically using special keywords.
I think you can safely try it and I'd appreciate your thoughts on it.
Best regards,
Dennis

Thanks, Dennis. Sounds promising. I'll give it a try over the next few days.

I've imported all my collection and I like Mezzmo a lot so far. Its a very nice organizer. I think you guys have a winner here.
Question: I have a directory on my hard disc that I constantly add files that I've downloaded daily (movies or music). I sometimes keep these files, sometimes delete them - depending on whether I like them. I'd like to see them in Mezzmo, but I'd rather not have to import them all the time - esp. if delete them. Is there any way to just list them in Mezzmo?
John.

Thank you John,
Regarding the directory - that sounds like a perfect match for the "watch folder". You can create a new watch folder playlist and it will be dynamically repopulated every time you access it (both locally and from any media device that you wish to stream it to).

I have a large library. 250 gigs of video, music and photos and it has taken over 18 hours to add these files to Mezzmo. Is this normal?
