Thread: Samsung Wireless

    Default Samsung Wireless

So if I plug my TV via ethernet I can get it to work, but since its not convenient for me to have it plugged in 24/7, I was wondering how I could get Mezzmo to see my TV via the WiFi USB dongle that I'm using? My TV is a Samsung UN40C5000 using a Samsung WIS09ABGN wireless USB dongle. I'd like to use the AllShare function in my TV via the USB dongle if possible with Mezzmo. I have a lot of MKV's, and I'm just now running into the Cinavia issues with my PS3, and until there's a workaround for that, the AllShare will have to do. Hopefully something that can be done! Thanks

short answer, depends on your wireless access point configuration. if your mezzmo server and the DLNA client (TV) are in the same ip subnet /broadcast domain then it will work. if there not then there needs to be some logic in the wireless access point to forward the DLNA frames. if its the second option here you will also need to use mezzmo 2.4.4 and check the only based off IP addresses in the device list window.

    cheers

Well, my computer is hardwired into my router, and the Samsung TV is wireless on the same router. When I do an internet connection test on the TV it works flawlessly. So the IP range should be the same (and both the PC and TV have static IP's set via the router), along with all the other fields (subnet, default gateway, etc). And I've also forwarded the ports for Mezzmo in my router to the correct IP for the computer. Like I said, PS3 sees and runs Mezzmo just fine, just too much of a hassle with the Cinavia garbage. Any other suggestions??

Oh, and I forgot to mention that yes, I do have uPnP enabled in the router also...

Please enable logging (see this thread: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging) then turn your TV off and on and go to the AllShare to see if Mezzmo comes up. Once it doesn't appear there in the list of server, wait a few seconds, then stop the server and send in the logs to support and we'll try to work it out. Also, please send in the IP addresses of your TV and your PC.

Thanks Dennis! I've sent over my email, and I'll keep my fingers crossed

Just wanted to give an update: It's working! Just out of the blue for no reason, it just decided to start working. Now if I could just get my TV to play the AVI's, I'd be a lot happier.

Here's the info from one of the clip's
