Default Really want to like it BUT ! ffmpeg.exe 90-100% CPU

    Hi

I hope someone has a really easy answer to this.

Tried installing this on my new Home server build (windows home server 2011 - 64 bit)

    My computer spec :-

    i3 2105 CPU - 3.1 ghz
    4gb ram

Everytime I try and play an MKV on my PS3 cpu usage goes to 100 % nearly and then the video pretty much stutters and stops be watchable, surely I cant be the only one that has experienced this.
I have searched the forums already and it has been mentioned several times but they have never arrived at a fix the post just dies after quite a few replies.

Other than that problem I like the look of the software so hope some one can fix it. I would expect around 40-50 % CPU usage the same as other media server software eg Serviio & Tversity

    Please help

Ive tried some other software called Wild media server that uses something called Tsmuxer and cpu was around 5 % but the front end is not as nice as Mezzmo

right now that's one of the biggest faults with mezzmo. If they could mix with some CoreAVC codec decoding or allow Mezzmo to offload the coding on the graphics card

Very true, used Coreavc quite a lot gives really good results. The new inbuilt gpu in the sandybridge range works really well in standalone players as well with hardly any CPU usage.
Still hope someone comes up with a solution for this though

    Cheers

Mezzmo remuxes as much as possible, but it needs the correct device profile to be selected to do that. Which device profile are you using on the PS3?

We're looking into using GPU for transcoding - it's being researched and tested. I can't report on any results yet though.

Hi sorry it took so long together back to you I've done some more testing.
I've connected to a Samsung tv with no probs and Xbox 360 with no probs they both have there corresponding profiles selected . The problem of 100 % CPU comes with Playstation 3 I have the Playstation 3 profile selected but it's still showing 100% and then won't play.

All other devices seem to work as expected.
Please help as mezzmo seems the best of the bunch to me

    Thanks

    Hi again

More testing here before I purchase, it's a lot better I've fixed all the devices ip addresses and set all there profiles.
The ps3 was set to playstation 3 compatible which caused 100% CPU I've changed it to playstation 3 and it's a lot better more like 40% CPU . But the mezzo service stopped and restarted on its own then when I played a film it went back to the tv menu I reselected the movie and it played for a fair while but then went back to the tv menu again once again I pressed play and this time it played for along time. If there was a problem shouldn't it just have buffered or something.
The tv is a d series Samsung and its hard wired.

Otherwise loving the software just not quite right before purchase

    Hi,

I'm glad you've sorted out the issues!

The last one sounds like transcoding is not fast enough. Please enable logging (see this thread: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging) then try playing that file again and once it stops, stop the server and send in the logs and we'll take a look.

My understanding was that GPU transcoding can't be done until FFMPEG supports it? It's possible that Conceiva are working on their own I guess.

That would be a better feature than pre-transcoding, in my opinion.
