Arrow Problem with anamorphic video on my TV...

    Hi!

I have problem with anamorphic transcoding video on my LG 50PK760.

Source video is 720x576 (1.25 ratio) and I want target resolution 1024x576 (1.78 ratio). I use Handbrake (last stable version 0.9.5) for transcodnig - anamorphic . See below picture for parameters.

    Capture.jpg

After completed transcoding operation video play normally in VLC media player, but on my TV with Meezmo video play like before (1.25 ratio). This is obviously because anamorphic transcoding setting.

Where is the problem? (witch component (Mezzmo or TV) must recognize anamorphic video transcoding setting and modify video to appropriate ratio (1.78 ratio))

    Best regards,

    Mlaky

    Hi Mlaky,

Can you please right-click on this file in Mezzmo and post the output of the "Get FFmpeg Information" command, so that I could check whether the file is being sent natively or transcoded by Mezzmo? If it's sent natively, then your TV must support anamorphic in order for the video to be displayed correctly.

Also, please mention which device profile you are using.

Sorry, I forgot to mention... I use LG TV profile...

This is the FFmpeg information for the file...

As far as I see Mezzmo sent file natively... As I'm right?

Can Mezzmo transcode any file automaticly to 1.78 ratio?

Yes, that file will be sent through natively. Have you tried to change the zoom mode on the TV (through the Q.Menu button on the remote)? If none work properly, then I guess the TV doesn't support this aspect ratio.

At the moment Mezzmo doesn't use aspect ratios when deciding to transcode a file, but this is coming in the future. Also, once the pre-transcoding version of Mezzmo is released, you could forcefully transcode this file, which may fix the ratio.

When encoding with Handbrake, can you specify an aspect ratio? Perhaps that'll help as well.

My LG TV does not capable to do this...

I had problem with Handbrake to... Handbrake "force" max. width / height to video clip resolution... e.g. 720x576 (1.25) can't be 1024x576 (1.78), because I can't change target resolution higher then original video (720 W or 576 H). So I must chose 720x405 (1.78) witch leads to video quality degradation.

But... I figure out that I can change target resolution manually after I generate batch script in Handbrake...

So, for me - this problem is solved.

    Thanks on replay.

And keep good working on Mezzmo...

    Hi there,

Can you let me know how you got around this as I have the same problem. Any dvd encode from handbrake comes up in 1:25/4:3. I have done a Strict anamorphic 1021x550 but still comes up in 4:3. Any help would much appreciated. I have a samsung B and file is sent natively.

    Thanks
