    Question Installing into WHS

    Hi!
I have a Windows Home Server ("WHS") (v1) with about 10 Terabytes of media. How do I install it within the WHS console? Your installer is an .exe which does not operate within the WHS console. Do you have a WHS .msi that is used to install it within the console.Your specifications say it works on WHS but if it does not install within the console it is not a true WHS application. This is not splitting hairs, as the WHS machine does not have a keyboard or monitor attached, and all applications require the WHS add-in.

Where is it? I missed it somewhere.

    Thanks,

    Dennis

    Hi,

No, we don't have an .msi installer suitable for WHS, but you can use the Remote Desktop Connection to connect to WHS and install our normal installer. Mezzmo does work on the WHS, provided you install it in that way.

Mezzmo Android: Install it on your tablet, smartphone, Android TV or Amazon Fire to browse and stream files from your Mezzmo library to all your devices. Full details at http://www.conceiva.com/products/mez...mo_android.asp
Mezzmo for Kodi Add-on: Install it into Kodi to stream files from your Mezzmo library directly in Kodi. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...odi_user_guide
Mezzmo for Roku App: Install it onto your Roku to stream files from your Mezzmo library. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...oku_user_guide

Mezzmo works fine on WHS but as above you need to install it via rdp.

Does it then run as a service? Where would it store its temp files? You would not want it filling up the small C: disk.

This is not exactly WHS support as many are reluctant to use Remote Desktop to alter their WHS systems. In addition one has to be careful that C: doesn't get filled up with files produced by Mezzmo. The proper way to support WHS is via an add-on (like some other DLNA servers do).

You can change the drive/folder where transcoded files are stored using the Transcoding Settings dialog.

Agree - and we may consider creating a WHS add-on in a future version.
