Thread: XP, Mezzmo and Panasonic Viera TXL37DT30B

  1. #1

Default XP, Mezzmo and Panasonic Viera TXL37DT30B

Have the above setup, also three days left on my Mezzmo trial. No matter what I do I can't get the tv or my Panasonic DVD player to see Mezzmo on a pc running XP. The pc is hardwired to my router, the tv and dvd player are connected to the router via Devolo 85mbps homeplugs.

Do I need to do some port forwarding etc to get connected? Mezzmo tells me Windows Firewall is properly configured. Any ideas anyone?

In the Mezzmo window under "Tools> Media devices" make sure that "allow all new devices to connect to Mezzmo" is checked.

Also, check your media devices' network connections to make sure they are really logged on to your router. Make sure the service is really running too. In XP click start>settings>control panel>administrator tools>services>mezzmo. There you can check the service status, enable it and restart it at the XP level. It has to say "started" for mezzimo to work.

Please check this post for some common issues: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...ur-DLNA-device

If none apply to you, or nothing helps, please enable logging (see this thread: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging) then turn your TV/DVD off and on again and try to find Mezzmo. If that fails (give it a few seconds), stop the server and send in the logs to support, please also provide your devices' IP addresses.

Mezzmo Android: Install it on your tablet, smartphone, Android TV or Amazon Fire to browse and stream files from your Mezzmo library to all your devices. Full details at http://www.conceiva.com/products/mez...mo_android.asp

Have tried today with it on my pc running Windows 7 with basically the same results. My Western Digital Live Hub will not see Mezzmo either, the only thing it sees is my shared network folders on both pc's.

The only devices that Mezzmo sees and wants to connect to is Windows Media Player on the pc it's installed on and bizarrely my Asus netbook running Ubuntu 11

It could be router settings as my Fritzbox 7390 is a strange beast, there are mentions of UPnP in the settings but no definative way to make sure it's either on or off. You can't tweak the firewall at all apart from port forwarding settings. Could also be the settings on my TV or DVD player though they have no problems seeing the WD Hub

All my IP addresses are fixed and I have set Mezzmo to allow only the devices I would like to connect, although I had the same problem before I did this

This will only work if you already have devices in the Media Devices dialog - any other device won't be allowed to connect, so I recommend turning that off until all connectivity issues are fixed. Did you send the logs to support?

Hi Dennis, there doesn't appear to be anything in the folders Conceiva-Mezzmo-aulogs or autemp?

Please use the "View Logs" button in the Options dialog to find the correct folder - then zip everything up and send it in.
