Default Viewing during transcoding / file retention-replacement

    Just getting started with Mezzmo.

I tried to play a m4v that my older Samsung "A" would never play using their DLNA server. Got the same message about unable to play. Returned to the server, noticed the CPU was peaked. Saw ffmpeg was running. It's only a 2.8Ghz dual core.

Returned to the TV and tried the clip again. It started playing! So it looks like Mezzmo can stream a file that's under construction - presumably as long as the CPU can stay ahead of the TV?

Considering the time it takes this machine to transcode some of the larger files, it seems you'd always want these files around. It looks like they end up in the 'temp' folder. Presumably if I provide enough space, these transcoded files will never be deleted and will therefore play on-demand on my older set?

    Default

Yes, that's correct. The current default is 80 GBs, but you can change that using the Transcoding Settings dialog.

The next release of Mezzmo will also include a pre-transcoding feature which will allow you to prepare your files in advance, so that they're ready for you to watch them when you want.
