    Default Artifacts during playback

Occasionally when playing back through Mezzmo, I'll notice artifacts/noise. I've never seen this when using the Samsung server. All of the videos I've noticed this on do not require transcoding. The system is a 2.8Ghz dual core 2Gb RAM. The CPU is hardly working during playback. There's no lag or delay, just the noise that last about 1/2 second. Any idea on adjustments I could make to try and resolve this?

If the videos are sent natively, then it's up to the TV to decode and display them - Mezzmo does not touch them at all, so any artefacts would either be in the video itself or introduced by the TV's player. Did you play those same files using Samsung's server?

As I mentioned, I'd never seen this using the Samsung server. The first few times I noticed it, I immediately went to the Samsung server and played the same file. No artifacts there.

I'll do some further testing using my Samsung B and PlayStation. They are newer and likely faster than my Samsung A.

I'll also monitor the network throughput and see if the stream runs at the same speed independent of server.

Is it possible that the videos are still being transcoded though? Can you please post FFmpeg information on one such video and also the device profile you are using?

No. The CPU rises to 97% on this machine during transcoding. It's at 3-5% during streaming, and that's with other things running too.

I've disabled ALL transcoding at the device level then later via the transcoding options. I've decided to manually recode videos as necessary.

Then it's very strange. If you do investigate further and compare the two servers, please let us know the results. Would it be possible for you to send one of those files to us through a site like www.megaupload.com so that I could try this here?
