Default pause, ff, rew, stop not working on sharp - "invalid operation for this contet"

This is my first time setting this up - I am able to stream a ripped blu-ray (mkv) to my 70 sharp aquos tv, BUT while playing on the tv, when I try to pause, stop, ff, or rew, I get a message on the tv that says: "invalid operation for this content"

I also tried download avi files as well with the same result.

any ideas? Is there a setting in mezzmo I need to set or something? the inability to pause, stop, ff, etc really makes mezzmo unusable for streaming ripped dvd's.

the avi is now allowing these functions (maybe it was transcoding before??)
the mkv file still won't allow, but maybe it is still transcoding - how can I tell if a file is still being transcoded?

    Hi Brian,

The message "invalid operation for this content" is coming from your TV (not Mezzmo) and it suggests that your TV cannot FF, REW the video that is being streamed to it by Mezzmo. You are probably right - Mezzmo is transcoding a file and you have tried to FF to a part of the file that does not yet exist (since it is being converted/transcoded on-the-fly) so your TV correctly says it is unable to do this for you. Once the file has been fully transcoded by Mezzmo, the next time you play it, it will not be transcoded again since transcoded files are cached by Mezzmo and just streamed directly to your device for fast playback. That allows you to FF, REW, etc.

In the current version of Mezzmo, the only way to know if a file has completed transcoding by Mezzmo is to start Task Manager and look at processes for all users. You will see "ffmpeg.exe" running when it is transcoding. The upcoming new version of Mezzmo will tell you this information in the Status pane so it will be much easier for users to know. The new version is due to be released before Christmas and will be a free upgrade for all registered users.

Thanks, that was the issue. now that is has been transcoded I can use the ff, rew, pause, etc.
It did take a VERY long time (over 3 hours) to transcode (it is a 2.5 hour mkv file though).

The ability to pre-transcode in the next version will be great.

Just an update - Mezzmo v2.5 has been released and it includes the 'pre-transcoding' features that we mentioned as a solution in this thread.
