1080p Movie not sending surround sound to TV, Movie shuts off after 10 mins

Hello,

I am new to Mezzmo. I like the software a lot. It's the best DLNA server I have found to date. It seems to play movies 720p movies just fine and sends the surround sound to the TV which is then sent to my HTR via optical cable.

When I play 1080p .mkv files, They play smooth for a short while, but then begin to stutter. Also the surround sound is not making it to my receiver. My receiver is defaulting to Dolby Pro Logic II instead of processing the surround. This tells me that the surround signal is not making it to the receiver for one reason or another. I am including a log file which exhibits smooth play, but missing surround sound. The movie plays for about 5-10mins then just shuts off and starts all over again. I'm also attaching the log from when I played the movie from the beginning.

If you can figure out why the surround isn't working or why the movie just stopped and started over, this would be helpful.

If you need more info from me please advise.

Connection from Media Server PC to TV is 1gb over Cat6 cable.
My CPU is at 50% when playing the move.
4gb RAM Ram is at 50% as well.
I'm using the Sharp Aquos Profile.
The Connection type is set to 1gb ethernet cable

Hello,

I'd need to see both logs (transcoding as well) to understand what's going on better. Please delete the transcoded file, the try playing it again and send both logs to support.

Also, we're about to release Mezzmo 2.5, which has many improvements and device profile fixes (as well as transcoding fixes), I'd recommend you to update to that version once its out and to try again. Perhaps it'll fix transcoding and playback.

If it doesn't, please open a support ticket and we'll sort it out.

To get FFmpeg information just right-click on the file in Mezzmo and use the "Get FFmpeg Information" command.

Attached are all log files from playing the movie again. The movie didn't stop this time, but the playback was very choppy and the surround sound still didn't pass through as ac3 or DTS. My HTR just defaulted to Dolby Pro Logic which means the HTR wasn't receiving the surround signal to process.

Again. This file works when plugged in directly to my TV via the usb cable. Also any 720p content plays fine with full surround sound.

Please let me know if you need anything else. I also look forward to the updated version. Hopefully some work has been done with the Sharp Aquos profile.

Also noticed that the movie stops after 5-10 mins of play if I under "Transcode Settings", I have "Complete partially transcoded Audio/Video files in background" unchecked.

If checked, along with "Use low pri", then the movie just stutters and no surround. Hope this helps.

Has anyone had a chance to look at this problem? Will these issues with passing surround sound be fixed in the upcoming version? Are there any Sharp Aquos Specific fixes coming to the next version? I ordered an hdmi cable and digital optical cable to connect my PC direct. I can't watch movies at least 1080p movies without having stutter and no surround. I will keep updating as you provide what I hope are improvements to your software. Please advise.

The new version will be released shortly, and there have been several improvements to the Sharp Aquos device profile.

Have you tried the Sharp Aquos 2011 device profile? To change the device profile, go to Media Devices and edit your Sharp Aquos TV device. Delete your transcoded files using the Transcoding Settings dialog. Restart your Mezzmo server and try again.
