Question panasonic G20 and LG HX806PE problems

    hello,
i have 2 test files and 2 devices. none of them seems to work correctly with Mezzmo.

    Panasonic G20:
    file1:
file1 is working perfectly on my TV. It is using transcoding. Image is smooth and guality is good. It is using 5.1 audio(my tv is showing 5.1, but my home cinema system is showing only 2.1, but all 5.1 speakers are playing - this could be caused by inability to pass through 5.1 audio from almost all feeds to optical audio out)
    Code:
ffmpeg version N-33781-g35674a2, Copyright (c) 2000-2011 the FFmpeg developers

LG HX806PE bluray 5.1 home cinema
    File1 (same as file1 above)
video in unwatchable. choppy in almost every faster scene. LG should support mkv and h264 via DLNA, so transcoding is not used for this file.
i tried to force transcoding(to lower quality and enhance fps) by setting my media device "Deliver media files supported by device:" option to "never deliver". after this was set, transcoding was still not used. i checked "transcoding settings" -> "folder size" which remains 0.00GB while the movie is playing.
audio seems to be only 2.1 - at least that is the information on my home cinema device.(all 5.1 speakers are active)

    File2(same as file2 above)
this file is perfect. even fast and action scenes are smooth.
as above, my device is saying that only 2.1 audio is used (all 5.1 speakers are active)

One additional problem was that by default Mezzmo detected my LG system as "Marantz BDP". i tried it using this setting and also LG bluray and LG bluray LPCM. no luck fixing all problems with any setting.

    Thanks for the detailed information.

With regards your Panasonic G20, you don't mention the device profile you are using. Can you try using the 'Panasonic Viera' device profile? Go to the Media Devices dialog in Mezzmo to set this. Also, delete your transcoded files using the Transcoding Settings dialog. If no success playing your files, then try the other Panasonic Viera device profiles available (2011 models & 2011 models, NTSC). Restart your Mezzmo server after each change. If no success, then please enable logging (see this thread: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging). Delete your transcoded files again using the Transcoding Settings dialog in Mezzmo. Next, start your Mezzmo server and stream the file that fails to play on your TV. When it fails, stop your Mezzmo server. Zip up all the logs and send them to us. We'll check out what is going wrong.

With regards your LG Blu-ray player, we'll need to see a set of logs as well. First, set the device profile to "LG BluRay" and then capture a set of logs when you stream some files that don't play. Zip up all the logs and send them to us. We'll check out what is going wrong.

meanwhile, is there any way how to force mezzmo to transcode mkv files when playing this files on my LG system? i wanted to watch whole mkv video today, it keeps slowing down constantly, video gets unwatchable. when i pause the video for a while, it seems to buffer few minutes then it slows down again. file is not transcoded(transcode folder is still 0.00GB).

watching any video via my TV is not acceptable, because it always strips 5.1 audio input down to 2.0 (even on optic audio out - confirmed by forums and panasonic tech support).

    thanks.

The new version of Mezzmo has a feature called 'pre-transcoding' and you can force your files to be transcoded & streamed into certain formats for certain devices. This should allow you to stream files to your LG without stuttering/slowing down. We should be releasing the new version in the next 1-2 days.
