    Lightbulb Metadata Questions

    Hi,

I have recently purchased Mezzmo just before christmas and can say on the whole - I like this product.

There is a question I have regarding metadata of my video files.

    The scenario is this:

I have two folders on different drives that I have added to Mezzmo.

    1) e:\videos\
    2) f:\archive\

I have painstakenly tagged all of the video files in the e:\videos location via Mezzmo and have just moved a couple of the directories to the f:\archive location and discovered that Mezzmo has not kept any of the metadata.

I will assume from this behaviour that when I tag the info its stored in a DB file somwhere rather than within the actual video file. I understand this is probably due to the many different specifications of video formats so I don't expect it to keep the info there.

What I would like to know, however, is there any way to tell Mezzmo the new location and preserve the tagging I have done?

Or is there a file that can be stored with the video file that just contains the metadata such as an XML file?

If so, is there any way I can export the metadata that I have already build through Mezzmo?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Rich

Mezzmo only reads from your media files and does not write metadata into them. Mezzmo does have a (sqlite-based) database that contains all details about your Mezzmo library.

Presently, there is no maintenance features or utilities to change paths for files that are in your Mezzmo library. For several advanced users, we have helped them edit their Mezzmo database with an sqlite editor to fix the paths as they desire. Contact us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com if you need help doing this.

You can store your video metadata in popular external XML files. Mezzmo reads from the following external metadata files when you add files into Mezzmo or maintain your Mezzmo library - http://www.conceiva.com/products/mez...p#MetadataRead.
