Why not propose your own Mezzmo app for iPad/iPhone and iPod instead of playing with all kind of settings and having trouble with other players. A Mezzmo app with the Mezzmo DLNA server would be the best, no?

Yes, I agree that it's a good idea, and we will consider doing this in the future (probably after the major update of Mezzmo is released). Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks a lot, this would be really great. It would eliminates many of the different bugs we can get using other party programs. In such case, we could concentrate here, having the same support and be more sure about any compatibility issues. I'm a little bit surprised that we don't have this app yet considering the fact that many other apps exist since a long time. I paid for my version a couple of years ago and I'm still awaiting about this app.
I spent a lot of time trying to make other programs work with my Mezzmo program using my iPad with many problems. For now I use the lite version of 8player (using the 8player profile), which works sometimes (with transcoding option at off) but I keep losing the Mezzmo server when it encounter a bad file (meaning a file it does not like or encoded in a way it does not accept it and just freeze the program) I have a dilemna, go and pay for the regular version of 8player or wait for the future and long awaited version of Mezzmo app. Also, please, if you make an app, male sure to support all Apple devices (iPod, iPad and iPhone) I would hate to see a 2x zoom version of a Mezzmo app on my iPad2.
Anyhow, thanks for considering this option. Many of us are frustrated to play in order to get good results at the end. Why does it have to be so complicated?
Until we release such an app you can use the new pre-transcoding feature available in 2.5 (released just now) to prepare your files in advance. This should let you play them on the iPad2 properly in the MP4 format.
