Default Audio lag streaming to Samsung HT system

    Hi,

I'm using a trial version of Mezzmo to stream media from my Windows 7 x64 PC to the TV via a Samsung HT-D5530. The content is streaming over a wireless G network and the samsung device has full signal.

I've noticed when streaming a variety of videos that sound will gradually lose sync with the picture (by as much as 1/3rd of a second I'd guess) and then gradually return to sync throughout the duration of the video. The sound is synced properly if I play the file on the computer. I don't think it's a network speed problem because the picture never skips or jitters, and even if I use the time search feature to skip ahead by half an hour, playback will resume promptly and with out lag.

    Any ideas?

Great job with the program by the way, getting it working with my Samsung player was FAR easier than with tversity (and better than the default Windows 7 streaming which didn't work at all)

    Thanks in advance.

Do you know if those files are streamed natively or transcoded? Can you please right-click on one such file in Mezzmo and post the output of the "Get FFmpeg Information" command and also the device profile you are using?

    Hi Dennis,

The files are being streamed natively. I'm using the Samsung HTS profile as it seemed the best fit. ffmpeg output is below. I should also mention (having experimented a bit more) that some videos seem to be consistently in sync the whole way through, whereas some seem to be consistently out of sync the whole way through. The output I've posted below is from a video that goes in and out of sync gradually. All videos are in sync when played on the PC.

    Thanks for your help.

If the file is being passed through natively, then it's likely that there's something about the encoding of that file which makes the audio go out of sync. Hardware-based players are quite limited in what they support, so the file may play fine on your PC, but the firmware on the device may not be able to handle it.

Please try the pre-transcoding feature to force-transcode one such file and see if that solves the issue.

    Hi Dennis,

I tried pre-transcoding one of my files using the "pre-transcode files even if they match the device's supported formats" option. After playing the file, the audio is still out of sync. The pre-transcoded file does play in sync on my PC.

Just a quick update for anyone who might be having a similar problem - the new profile which Dennis mentioned has seemed to fix the audio sync problem without needing to pre-transcode the files. Thanks for your help!
