Default Newbie confused about profiles and how to set things up

Ok so I download Mezzmo and finally thought I got everything working. I started to play one of my MKV movies and about 10 seconds in it starts skipping really bad. I am streaming through my 3d Blu Ray surround sound model sony bdv hz970w. Also, there are 2 media servers that pop up for Mezzmo on my menu. I don't know what I am doing with these profiles. Like which one to change to get rid of the duplicate server or which one to change to stop the skipping. Can someone help me set mine up? thank you.

The two media servers could be showing up if you have more than one network card in your computer. If that's the case, you can go to the Media Devices dialog, the select your device, click Edit and select one of the network cards (instead of the "auto" setting there).

Regarding the file not playing - can you check the Transcoding pane if the file is being transcoded? If it is, is transcoding speed fast enough for real-time playback (it'll tell you if it's not)?

Can you please tell me which device profile you are using to stream the file to your device?

I used the pre transcode option because I thought it would help. If you are asking for the profile from the Blu Ray player it was set on Sony BDP(NTSC, No DivX), I changed it to Sony BDP(PAL/NTSC, MKV, No DivX) based on a suggestion from another post I found to see if that would help but my transcoding seemed like it stopped all together when I was pre transcoding. Maybe I had to reset everything I don't know. The reason I say I am confused about the profiles is I don't know if I am supposed to be changing stuff for the device I am playing movies through or the device I am streaming from. My computer shows up as a device in the list as a generic dlna device. I fixed the 2 mezzmo things... I had my ethernet cable plugged in and my wireless on so it was probably recognizing both.

The device profile needs to be set for the device that will be decoding the file - basically the device you are accessing Mezzmo from. So, if you have a BDP and a TV and you are using the DLNA functions of your BDP, then the device profile must be set as the BDP (since the TV acts just as a display in this case).

Looking at the manual for your HT device, I'd recommend trying the "Sony BDP (NTSC, No DivX)" or the "Sony Home Theater (NTSC, No DivX)" device profiles, as they seem to be the closest to the specs.
