    Question Why are these MKV files not transcoding?

    Hello, after a trail period i got my registered Mezzmo 2.5 this weekend. Till yesterday everything worked fine, but now i've got problems with some MKV files. My Panasonic Vierra shows the files as JPEG allthough they are MKV, If i start a video the TV shows: File not supported. I tried to pre-transcode the files but then Mezzmo tells me:

    This is the FFmpeg Information:

    Seems stream 0 codec frame rate differs from container frame rate: 2000.00 (2000/1) -> 23.98 (24000/1001)

    Input #0, matroska,webm, from 'M:\TV Series\Eureka\Season 4\Eureka S04E20.mkv':

    Metadata:

    Stream #0:0(eng): Video: h264 (High), yuv420p, 1280x720 [SAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], 23.98 fps, 23.98 tbr, 1k tbn, 2k tbc (default)

    Stream #0:1(eng): Audio: ac3, 48000 Hz, 5.1(side), s16, 384 kb/s (default)

    Stream #0:2(dut): Subtitle: text (default)

    At least one output file must be specified

    ---> DB Level Info: 31, 100

    ---> Frame rate: 23,98

    ---> Aspect ratio: 16:9
    I've also got some Full HD MKV files and those run fine after pre-transcoding.

    What's wrong here?
    I guess it has something to do with:

    Seems stream 0 codec frame rate differs from container frame rate: 2000.00 (2000/1) -> 23.98 (24000/1001)

    edit: meanwhile i found out this has probably nothing to do with my problem, saw this line in a lot more FFmpeg information on this forum

    How can i solve this problem?

    The files play after manual transcoding with Mediacoder (free), but it takes a long time to transcode, about 1.5 times playing time.
    Save to say i need some help here

    Richie,

    Can you please tell me the model of your TV? Perhaps the device profile is not the right one for your TV's firmware, that's why the file don't play. The "Panasonic Viera (2011 models)" that you have selected will actually pass through MKV files natively to the TV, since some firmware versions support playing MKVs. I suspect your TV may not support them, thus they appear as the wrong file type and do not play.

    Try the "Panasonic Viera" device profile and see if they play.

    Thanks for the reply Dennis. I did try that myself this morning and indeed that works. When i think of it, my P42v20 is a 2010 model, so (shame).....
    But what's the story on the Full HD MKV's, they where transcoded automaticly........

    Thanks, Richie

    Do you mean why some MKVs were transcoded using the "2011" profile? I'm not sure - I'd need to see logs for that.
