Thread: Using Mezzmo with a Sharp Aquos Quattron LC-70LE733U TV

Default Using Mezzmo with a Sharp Aquos Quattron LC-70LE733U TV

I am trying to use Mezzmo 2.5.0 now with my sharp Aquos TV. Since it's a model that just released last year, I have chosen the new 'Sharp Aquos TVs (2011 models)' profile since that would seem to be the closest match. My goal is to stream to it both my older .avi files (mostly encoded with the xvid codec), and my newer rips which are .mkv HD x264 files.

The problem is, Mezzmo is trying to transcode all the files before sending to the TV when I'd like it to just stream it without transcoding. I know the TV supports these formats, as I can put these files on a USB drive and play them fine on the TV. Also, I had Windows Media Center configured at one point last year and it could stream the avi files without transcoding, so I would hope it's possible with Mezzmo.

How can I tell how the profile is configured? I would like to make sure it makes all the files "visible" to the TV without transcoding. I disabled the transcode option for the profile, and now none of the files show on the TV, just empty folders.

    Thanks!

P.S. I'm liking the ability to specify different profiles for my different streaming devices around the house, so I'm hoping we can get this to work.

Looking at the manual (http://files.sharpusa.com/Downloads/...LC70LE733U.pdf) on page 48, it mentions formats supported for DLNA (usually these are different from USB, unfortunately) and MKV is not there. Our "Sharp Aquos (2011 models)" device profile will transcode MKVs to MPEG-TS, so that they can be watched on TV, but you need to enable transcoding. AVI files should not be transcoded using that profile - if they are, can you please right-click on such an AVI file in Mezzmo and post the output of the "Get FFmpeg Information" command?

Ugggh, that's too bad. Luckily, My Bluray player seems to play the mkv files. Here is the output from one of the avi file...

That AVI should be passed through natively using the "2011 models" profile, but it will be transcoded using the "Sharp Aquos" profile.

Can you please enable logging (see this thread: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging) then try playing that file again on your TV and once the file begins to transcode, stop the server and send the logs to support, so that I could check why it's being transcoded?

I sent the log files, though I can't even get the avi files to show up on the TV using the 2011 profile. Hopefully they show why. If you need me to try a different profile, let me know.

The updated profile you sent works, thanks! I can now get avi files to stream to the TV without transcoding, and the mkv files seem to transcode fine.
