Default Title sticks even after file is renamed

Is this by design? I renamed a bunch of files to make their titles display better on the TV but Mezzmo still displays the original names on the TV and in the app.

If you renamed the files on disk, then you need to run maintenance in order for Mezzmo to pick up the changes and update its library. Did you maintain the library after renaming files?

Yes, I assumed maintenance would be necessary so I ran it - with the setting to only update for things that had changed. Assuming that a name change would count as a change.

Next I tried this. I moved the folders to another location, outside of the folder structure that Mezzmo is watching. Ran maintenance. Then I put the folders back. Ran maintenance. The original LONG names still are displayed for the title.

Next thing to try is run maintenance and force update for all items. This will take a bit of time because I can't find a way to run maintenance on an individual folder.

    I'm at 2.5.

If you change the file name on disk then yes, it should've been picked up.

Try running maintenance with "remove" option selected as well and see if that removes old files and puts the new ones in (the changed file name will make Mezzmo think that it's a new file).

Well, the option is not really update only those things which have changed. It's update only those things with "missing" information. So I chose the option to update all files instead. That didn't help either, the long names still are displayed. I have always had the "remove" option checked.

If I right-click and check the properties of a file, I can see on the Details tab a Description category with a Title field and it contains the long name. So I guess since Mezzmo can see that, it's overriding the file name. Understandable I guess. Is there an option to override that?

Can you please confirm that you are actually renaming the file in Windows Explorer and not just modifying the "Title" property in the Details tab? Mezzmo should see the renamed files as new and add them to the library with the new filename. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding what you are doing?
