Thread: Sony BDP-S580 and AVI files

  1. #1

Default Sony BDP-S580 and AVI files

AVI files are displayed as M2TS files when viewed via S580 using Mezzmo.

Mezzmo device settings - Sony BDP (PAL)

An AVI file on a USB stick connected to the S580 is shown as an AVI file and plays correctly. The same AVI file via Mezzmo is displayed as a M2TS file and won't play 'file/data corrupt'.

Is seems as if the AVI file is detected as an M2TS file by Mezzmo - why?

    Any assistance appreciated.

If you are in the US than it is because sony has disabled avi files over dlna. Evidently if Americans have an avi we must have stolen it. Pure bs, but I have all my file saved as mpg (vob also works).

Can you please right-click on one of those AVIs in Mezzmo and post the output of the "Get FFmpeg Information" command here? Perhaps the video or audio streams fall outside of what's defined by the device profile and that's why they are being transcoded (thus they appear as M2TS, as that's the destination format for transcoding for the Sony BDPs).

Thanks for the file information. If you are using the "Sony BDP (PAL)" device profile then that file should've been passed through natively, so perhaps something else is going on. Please enable logging (see this thread: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging) then browse to this file using your BDP and once it appears on the TV (as M2TS), stop the server and send the logs to support.
