    Default folder.jpg refresh

Is there any way to force an image refresh for all images within a playlist? I have replaced some folder.jpg files with better ones and the library maintenance has run and I have right clicked and manually refreshed the folders and playlists but the old art is still showing. It has been about 16 hours since evening maintenance was run so I doubt that it is still updating. I can fix this by editing the properties and re-selecting the folder.jpg files but that isn't very practical for a large library.

When doing maintenance did you specify "update all"? You'll need to do that in order for new thumbnails to be picked up. This will overwrite any custom metadata though, that you may have set.

Update all files was chosen as well as all other options on the Maintain Your Mezzmo Library page. The metadada should be fine since the folder.jpg files will just be replacing the old folder.jpg files.

So you don't see the new folder artwork in Mezzmo's GUI after maintenance has finished? Or is this only on the device? If on the device, then thumbnails needs to be deleted, so that they're re-created.\

Can you please post a screenshot of your maintenance dialog with the options that you have selected?

Also, did all tasks finish (check the Status pane) after maintenance?

It seems like the works after running through 2 maintenance cycles (48 hours). I'll have to check more thumbnails but the couple that were problematic before work now.

I seem to have lost all of my video artwork.

Yesterday it was there for all my films (about 200) but tonight when I added a few more films and went into All Video Files to add metadata, the cover artwork has been replaced with stills from the films. I have the library maintenance scheduled to run daily, set to update media properties (not update artwork), only update files with missing information, and remove media files from the library that can't be found on the computer. Is there something wrong with these settings? The scheduled update has run for days without any issues and I haven't changed the settings.

I also noticed that some playlists are blank, ie Last 50 played

Do you know what might have caused this? Also, where is the video/music cover artwork saved? In some album folders I see folder.jpg files but others don't have that....very odd!

Artwork is stored in Mezzmo's database - Mezzmo never writes out any files do disk, so the folder.jpg files in folder would need to be placed by you and I guess they were part of downloaded movies (or put there by another program).

If the artwork is gone from those videos, is it because, perhaps, it was taken from metadata before (e.g. an .nfo or .xml or a folder.jpg file) and that external file is now not in that folder? It shouldn't be removed on its own if nothing changed.

Another thing to check is if you have multiple users on your PC and perhaps it's a library for another user, or do you only have one user on your machine?

No, there is only one account on the server so it should be reading the same library as before. With the video, I used the option to get the artwork from the internet rather than download an image and assign it. Another thing I noticed is that for some of my compilation albums, the cover artwork now varies from song to song, when I'm sure the artwork was the same for all songs before.

I need to try and understand more about how Mezzo uses cover art, so I'll read through the forum again, but perhaps you could answer one question in the meantime...if I understand your last post correctly, I can download the missing/correct artwork onto a hard-drive as jpegs, assign these to my albums in Mezzmo and the database file will be updated to always show that image. So I could then delete the jpegs and the correct artwork would still be assigned, as it is stored in the db...is that right?

On a more positive note, I've just finished ripping about 1TB of music and video to my server and it is all streaming faultlessly through Mezzmo. It really is a great piece of software, and once I've sorted the artwork it will be running exactly how I want (apart from a couple of playlist enhancements). I'm also really impressed with the level of support you offer through these forums - it would be really easy to just take our money and then refer us to the user guide if we had issues, so it's good to see that you take the time to respond to all the queries posted here.

Basically yes, if you download your own artwork and name it in a way that Mezzmo picks up (see this page: http://www.conceiva.com/products/mez...p#MetadataRead) then that image will be stored in the database after you do maintenance. If you then remove that image file and run maintenance with "update all", the artwork will be removed from the database. If you use "update missing", then it should still there.

Hey Pootle... I have had good success using this with Mezzmo to assign folder structure/ file naming and to populate metadata and artwork:
