Is there going to be a profile made for a stock Kindle Fire?
Is there going to be a profile made for a stock Kindle Fire?
Since the Kindle Fire runs Android, then we recommend using the iMediaShare app together with the RockPlayer app (both are free Android apps). RockPlayer supports quite a lot of formats and Mezzmo has a specific "RockPlayer" device profile that needs to be set for it (go to the Media Devices dialog to do this).
Mezzmo Android: Install it on your tablet, smartphone, Android TV or Amazon Fire to browse and stream files from your Mezzmo library to all your devices. Full details at http://www.conceiva.com/products/mez...mo_android.asp
Mezzmo for Kodi Add-on: Install it into Kodi to stream files from your Mezzmo library directly in Kodi. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...odi_user_guide
Mezzmo for Roku App: Install it onto your Roku to stream files from your Mezzmo library. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...oku_user_guide

While I appreciate the recommendation, RockPlayer is not available through the Kindle app store - hence the request for a stock Kindle profile. In addition, a stock profile (video support=h.264 AVC/ACC) would allow those of us who have large media libraries on Windows boxes (Win7,WHS2011,etc) to use the Kindle as a player for local media while only having to configure the media server.
OK - understand now. You will need an app on your Kindle Fire that is capable of UPnP/DLNA communication and playing media files. Check your Kindle fire if there is an app already capable of this, or you will have to download and install one from Amazon's Appstore. Once you have found an app (or apps) that can play media from UPnP/DLNA sources (such as from streamed from Mezzmo media server), then try to connect to Mezzmo and see if it works. Try changing the device profile to "Alpha Systems Media Link Player Lite (Baseline)" or "Mariia Smeshkova 8player" or "Android Honeycomb". If no success, contact us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com and we will try to create a specific device profile for you.

Markshu - I tried aVia Media Player and got some of my files to stream. Wasn't 100% working and forgot to go back and try to figure it out.
Howdy
I work with the development team for aVia media player, so I am a little biased. Markshu, while there isn't a stock kindle app you are looking for, I think aVia will work well for you. We can see media from windows media servers and other dlna / upnp servers. There is also a renderer on the app so you can send media to it from another device.
As for what media is available, on the kindle it is limited to the native availability of codecs and containers. There is a lot of solid free software out there that can help you convert movies and music to a format that the kindle can play. We are working on supporting more than just the native types, but that will be in future releases. Hope this helps
