Default automatic recognize of new files

    hello,

at first: thank you for your great software. I use Mezzmo on a self-built Windows Home Server, together with an Samsung LE40C750 and a Sonos Play:5 player.
    It works very fine.

If I have copied some new files in the directory on server than I have to add their manually to the library. Is there a way to get the same result automatically?
I would prefer a solution that Mezzmo scans the directories every 15 minutes or on a restart of the service.

    Thank you for your hints.

    Bye,
    machine-child

There's a few ways to add your files into Mezzmo. You can use 'Scan Drive/Folder For Media Files' and this scan for files in folders and add them into your Mezzmo library. Once the scan is completed, Mezzmo does not automatically scan the folder again or refresh your Mezzmo library again. You have to do this manually again.

Or, you can use 'Add Folder' and Mezzmo will dynamically read the contents of the folder you have selected. Whenever you browse the folder in Mezzmo or on your DLNA device, Mezzmo will dynamically read the contents of the folder and sub-folders and pick up any new files. So, I recommend you use 'Add Folder' since it will find all your new files that you place into the folder on your computer. There is no need to re-scan every 15 minutes in this case. Give it a try and let me know if that works for you.

Yes, that works. I added a new folder (called video) and have an automatical actualization now. The TV have shown the last added files.
For my usage this option is better than a playlists.

By the way this will not work if your drive is a network attached drive on a NAS. Mezzmo does not automatically see it even if you browse the folder. It is not a big deal since I add the file then search for the meta data as the last step.

I don't quite understand your post. When you add a folder into your Mezzmo library, Mezzmo will walk down through all sub-folders and find files dynamically. It should not matter if the folder is from a NAS, a USB drive or an internal harddisk on your computer. If you have found a problem, then that's something that may be a bug & that we want to fix. Let us know more details & we can investigate it.
