Default Move .db files out of AppData\Local\Mezzmo

Trying a new thread this time...

I need to move all the .db files out of this location.

I've read in several places that this can be achieved through editing an .ini file and a .txt file, but no documentation on how to do so.

I am currently testing a number of DLNA servers, and this is holding up the test of Mezzmo, can I get a hand?

    Thanks!

Follow these steps to move the default location of the Mezzmo database files to another drive/folder:

    1. Stop your Mezzmo media server and exit Mezzmo.

    2. Using Windows Explorer, go to this folder:

    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Conceiva\Mezzmo (for Win8/Win7/Vista)
    C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Conceiva\Mezzmo (for Win XP)

    3. Edit the MezzmoMediaServer.ini text file with a text editor such as Notepad and change the "FileName" path to your new location (keeping the "Mezzmo.db" at the end). Make a backup of this INI file for safe keeping.

    4. Move all the files and sub-folders in this folder to your new location - except the MezzmoMediaServer.ini text file (it must remain in the above folder).

    5. Run Mezzmo and start your Mezzmo media server. It should now pick up your database from the new folder.

Note: If you wish to move the transcoded files to another location, then use the Transcoding Settings dialog in Mezzmo.

Could it be possible to make this an editable option from the GUI going forward, like the transcode file locations and what-not?

That's a good idea and is already in our development plans for a future version. Thanks for the suggestion.

Update: Moving your Mezzmo database to another location has now been automated in Mezzmo v4.1+. See this FAQ - http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...-your-computer.
