A few questions....

Hello all. I've been using Mezzmo for almost a year now and I've still got a few questions about some of the features. First off, here is my system set up.

Z68 Motherboard
i7 2600K processor
8gb 1600 RAM
7200rpm Sata 3 HDD
Gigabit Network Adapter
Gigabit Router
Samsung TV UN40D6420

I watch a lot of anime and I download the fansubs that come out. These are mostly mkv files some dual audio almost all with multiple subtitles embedded. Here are my questions.

1. Some of my dual audio files allow me to change the language while others don't. What is the cause of this?
2. Some files all me to skip forward or rewind 10-15 secs and some don't. For the files that allow it, I can also time search in 1 minute intervals.
3. I have a subtitle option on my tv but it is always grayed out. Anyway to enable subtitle selection?
4. I don't mind transcoding as my system can handle it. Are there settings that I can play with to enable some of the options mentioned above?
5. Is there a new version coming out soon? I've read a few posts that date back to year that suggest this.

1. & 2. My initial guess is that some of your files require transcoding and this could the reason that you're losing an audio channel and why you cannot skip forward/backward whilst transcoding of the file is taking place. To know for sure, please tell us the device profile you are using for your TV. To do this, go to the Media Devices dialog in Mezzmo. Also, post the FFmpeg information on one of the files that does not play properly (no dual audio, no skip forward/backward).

3. Transcoding settings are located in the Transcoding Settings dialog in Mezzmo. The Transcoding pane displays all files that are transcoding or queued to be pre-transcoded. You can right-click on a file and click 'Pre-transcode File' to transcode it before streaming it. Or, you can right-click on a playlist/folder to pre-transcode all the files in the playlist/folder. Or, you can click Tools/Pre-transcode Library to transcode your entire library of files. The File Properties dialog in Mezzmo has a Transcoding tab that lets you see all the transcoded files for that particular file.

4. Samsung TVs do support playing external subtitles (e.g. .SRT files) and Mezzmo will stream them to your TV. I am not sure if Samsung TVs support displaying subtitles from embedded subtitle channels within video files. So, I would recommend creating .SRT files for your anime files - for example, c:\anime\clip1.mkv and c:\anime\clip1.srt. There are tools that can extract subtitle channels from video files and save them as .SRT files.

5. We are always working on a new version of Mezzmo. One is planned to be released in the next 1-2 weeks and it will be a free update for all registered users. We're just fixing a few remaining issues and completing testing now.

Thanks for the MediaInfo, however we prefer the FFmpeg info as that's what Mezzmo uses for transcoding, etc. To provide this, right-click on the file in Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'. Post the FFmpeg info here and we'll analyze what could be the problem.

Thanks for the FFMpeg info. Since your Samsung TV does not 'vorbis' audio, Mezzmo is transcoding the audio channel in your MKV file. Whilst a file is transcoding on-the-fly, you are unable skip forward or backwards since the transcoded file has not be created as yet.

You can pre-transcode your files before streaming them. To do this, right-click on a file in Mezzmo and click 'Pre-transcode File'. Once pre-transcoding has completed (go to the Transcoding pane to see this), then you can stream the file to your TV and you will be able to skip forward/backward as you wish.

The current version of Mezzmo does not transcode all audio/video channels in a file, rather it only transcodes the first audio/video channel. We are presently developing the next major version of Mezzmo and this will let you transcode all channels.
