Default Mezzmo changed names on 1 bdp

I have a system of 7 Sony BDPS[3/5]70 players. All have been working great until the BDPS570 in the living room decided to change the name to "Mezzmo: 1". All of the other players identify it as Mezzmo. What is really strange is that this server will display all of the playlists. However it will not show any playable file in any list. All other systems work properly. I have cleared the connection server info from the BDP. I have reset the BDP system back to factory defaults and re-installed it. In each case it will discover Mezzmo:1.

The name change of course to me is not a factor. The not having playable files is. I suspect that it is grabbing the wrong profile, but the media device list doesn't show that. Attached is a diagnostic log that will show the discovery process and browsing to a couple of playlists and the failures.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

From reading your logs, it shows that your Sony BDP is (incorrectly) using the Microsoft XBox 360 device profile and that would explain why you are not seeing files on your Sony BDP. We have found and fixed several issues related to your problem and I am confident that we have fixed the problem in the upcoming Mezzmo v2.6. For now, I would suggest you try this:

    1. Stop your Mezzmo server.
    2. Go to the Media Devices dialog in Mezzmo and delete your Sony BDPS570 device that is not working.
    3. Exit Mezzmo and using Windows Explorer go to the DeviceProfiles folder on your computer (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...ofiles-located). Delete all *.pro files in this folder.
    4. Start Mezzmo and start your Mezzmo server. Assuming your Sony BDPS570 is turned on, you should see it reappear in your Media Devices list. Check that it has the right device profile.
    5. Try connecting & streaming to your Sony BDPS570 now.

Let me know how you go.

Thanks Paul. Your analysis did provide the answer. I did not need to delete all the profiles to correct the problem, just the two offending profiles.

For you to consider the problem was that at one time I did have a xbox connect using 192.168.0.28 and the xbox profile. Because of the way my system is set up we have decided to not allow the xbox to use the system so I had marked the allow connection field to deny. What evidently happened is that the BDP was given the same ip address as previously used by the xbox (192.168.0.28). It did have the correct device profile listed in the media devices list. However the xbox was ahead of it in the list. Evidently this caused the system to select the profile for the xbox and not the BDP. From my perspective I will reconfigure the network to always assign the same addresses to a device (or just disable dhcp and manually assign addresses.) From your side you may want to enter it as a bug since it is using the ip to assign the profiles and not the mac.

Thanks for the explanation. We'll tweak Mezzmo's device-to-device profile matching so that the right profile is used. Glad you found the problem & have a solution for your home streaming.
