Question Mezzmo will not play dvd ripped with DVD decryptor

    Hi all,
I am trying to move my son's DVD collection over to our PC in an attempt to preserve the discs and my PS3 (only dvd player). I have tried ripping two different DVD's using DVD decryptor and Mezzmo will not play them. Both files play in windows media player, but will not play when I try to stream them to my tv (Sharp Aquos). The ffmpeg information for both files are listed below. I did notice that the duration is incorrect on both files, but like I said earlier both play fine in windows media player.

    Hey there

If I can try to help you. Try ripping them to ISO with imgburn which is free. Just google it, create an ISO img and then share it across with Mezzmo. This works for me via my WDTV Live Hub, hopefully it may work for you.

As a side note, correct me if Im wrong but DVD Decrypter only rips RAW dvd files to a folder? When I tried that method it also failed with my WDTV Live Hub. Aside from that, personally I find ISO is just a much better and neater way of storing the disk data as apposed to folders with raw disk files.

    I hope this helps you.

Thanks. I'll give the ISO route a try.

Ok, I've got some ISO images on my HD now, but Mezzmo will not let me add them to the library. How do I share an ISO image with Mezzmo?

I think you'll find that it's not possible to share iso images via the DLNA protocol.
That would be deliberate, as the big companies like Sony have issues with copies of their media. If you Google DLNA ISO you'll find quite a bit on this.

What most people seem to do is to share a folder to the network, and then access that through one of the hardware media players like WDTV Live etc. ISO images will work fine like that.

Mezzmo does not stream ISO images to DLNA devices. It is a feature we may implement in a future version.

With regards the original poster's problem, please go to the Media Devices dialog in Mezzmo and make sure your TV is using the "Sharp Aquos (2011 models)" device profile. There are also a few other Sharp Aquos device profiles, so you can try them also. Each time, restart your Mezzmo server and try streaming your files to your TV. See if that helps. If no success, contact us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com and we do have an updated Sharp Aquos device profile that may help further.

Sorry I should have been clearer here. The ISO image solution was what I used with WDTV Live Hub directly through the network via the FILES feature of the box and not through Mezzmo. I use Mezzmo with everything else, Im not sure if the ps3 supports ISO image, but there may be another way to get it working via this method.

    Apologies for not being clearer.
