Thread: 2.6.2 much slower than 2.5 in realtime transcoding, skipping frames

Rainey, this computer / network can easily handle 3 concurrent 1080p transcoding tasks, or more. I have a 160 Gb Intel SSD320 and a 2 Tb WD Caviar Black 7200 rpm HDD. The Avatar video in question plays at 24 FPS. It plays absolutely smoothly for the first couple of minutes, then it starts skipping. It skips exactly at the same spot on TWO different devices - Toshiba Regza TV and Samsung Blueray player HTS.
I excluded all the obvious already.

BINGO! The new profile works really well, problem solved. Every device (TV, HTS, media centre) *must* have a bitrate limited to its capabilities, or major issues arise. I requested the Samsung HTS profile with the same fix. This must go all in the next version.

    Default M2TS and MKV stutter

I have Sony BDP-S470 with the latest firmware. Host specs is a dedicated Dell OptiPlex 960 with 8Gb of RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo 3.16Ghz CPU and a eSATA storage in a RAID 5 using three Enterprise WD 2Tb Black hard drives. Through put is around 200- 300Mbs. AV has excluded the eSATA storage and Mezzmo. Mezzmo version 2.6.3

M2TS files play fine, but I get an audio skip a few minutes after play. I have tried with and with transcoding, even tried downgrading the audio from 7,1 to 5.1 to AC3 two channel.

MKV files are no better. So either I am converting the file wrong or Mezzmo is having an issue with file. Please advise.

    Hi Niles,

Contact us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com and we'll supply you with an updated Sony BDP device profile. In your email, also include the FFmpeg information on the files that play fine and those that do not, and tell us what device profile you are using. To get the Ffmpeg information on a file, right-click on a file in Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'. To check your device profile, go to the Media Devices dialog in Mezzmo.

    Default Slow realtime transcoding

Hi, I have some problem on SONY KDL-26EX321.
ALL Mezzmo versions (icludes 2.6.4.0) after 2.5.0.0 is about 3-5 times (!) slower on all my MPEG4 videos. My CPU: A64 X2 6400+ (3.2GHz).
I can't normal see any video on 2.6.x.x versions, fps is about 10-15.

What device profile are you using in Mezzmo? Go to the Media Devices dialog in Mezzmo to see this.

Also, please post the FFMpeg information on one the MP4 video files. Right-click on the file in Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information' to display this.

On 2.5.0.0 - "Sony Bravia KDL" - selected by default after TV detect.
On 2.6.4.0 - "Sony Bravia KDL (2010 models)" - selected by default after TV detect.

But when I select "Sony Bravia KDL HD" on 2.6.4.0 transcoding bocomes 2-4 times faster (80-120fps) than 2.5.0.0 because of using mpeg2 instead of h264 stream!
Why default profile selection is not optimal? Why Mezzmo offers slow h264 streams by default?

Also, please post the FFMpeg information on one the MP4 video files. Right-click on the file in Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information' to display this.
    Please look at attached files.
