Default Feature Request: Log for Past Shows Watched

With so many people in my household watching shows from my server it would be nice to have a feature that would tell me who has watched what, from where - i.e. IP address, and when. This feature could be easily implemented under the status tab. The status tab already shows what is currently being watched; so basically instead of deleting it when they stop playing it it would stay on and show a timestamp, only to be cleared by the user with a clear history button. This would allow me to take off videos after they have been watched instead of leaving them on there until I see that person and also remember to ask what they have watched, which can be a pain in the butt with so many people in my household.

This is just an idea but it would be useful for me. What do you guys think?

It's a nice idea. We'll discuss it here and add it to our development list as a possible feature for a future version of Mezzmo.

(Although it does not satisfy your needs of knowing who streamed what, there is the play count for each file in the current version of Mezzmo and that tells you whether a file has been played or not. Go to Details view to see the play count and last played date. Or, right-click on a file and click Properties to see/reset the play count)

Mezzmo Android: Install it on your tablet, smartphone, Android TV or Amazon Fire to browse and stream files from your Mezzmo library to all your devices. Full details at http://www.conceiva.com/products/mez...mo_android.asp
Mezzmo for Kodi Add-on: Install it into Kodi to stream files from your Mezzmo library directly in Kodi. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...odi_user_guide
Mezzmo for Roku App: Install it onto your Roku to stream files from your Mezzmo library. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...oku_user_guide

At least for me I will know who plays what by their IP address. I know typical users won't know what devices use what IP address; but if I remember correctly for many of the devices that will show your IP address and then say Xbox 360 or WDTV Live. So, that information would be sufficient for most.

Looking to see if we can add an already watched to the listing on the server maybe by Ip. We watch alot of Tv series and switch backforth and forget sometimes what we have watched. Any ideas if this can be done or is already there and I just need to enable it.

Mezzmo ships with a few playlists that help you with this - i.e. Movies (Unwatched) and TV shows (Unwatched). You should be able to browse into these and see what TV episodes or movies you have not yet watched.

If you want to set up you own playlists to handle this, then you can use the above two playlists as a guide. Right-click on 'TV shows (Unwatched)' and click Properties. On the Active Playlist dialog, click the 'Smart Filter' button. This will show you the rules that are used to filter your video files (i.e. Play Count = 0 means it has not been watched yet).

If you need help, let us know what you are after and we'll show you how to create the appropriate playlist.
