Default Sharp Aquos LC-70C847OU - mp4 playback problem

    Hi all,

I have a Sharp Aquos LC-70C847OU. Using the Sharp Aquos (2011 models) profile on Mezzmo, I am able to play AVI files fine. However, my MP4 files (which should be supported natively by my TV) do not play at all, unless I manually pretranscode them, and ALSO select the option to pretranscode even if the files match the device's supported formats. FFMPEG output from a file that won't play is pasted below, as is a picture of the "DLNA formats" from the manual for my TV.

Can someone help me understand why these MP4 files won't play without pretranscoding, but are also not auto-detected as requiring transcoding for my TV? It seems like they should be supported natively, but if not, are there changes I can make to the profile to enable these files to be transcoded on the fly?

    Thanks,
    Freeze

The 'Sharp Aquos (2011 models)' device profile will pass this MP4 file directly through to your TV. Given your TV cannot play the file, then either the file is corrupted or there is an audio/video encoding characteristic in the file that exceeds the capabilities of your TV's firmware. We will tweak the device profile for you so that this MP4 is transcoded & streamed to your TV for playback. Please contact us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com for the updated device profile to try. In your email to us, please also include the FFmpeg information on the file (Note: To do this, right-click on the file in Mezzmo and and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'. This FFmpeg information contains a few extra items of information such as aspect ratio and level, that can be important factors why the TV cannot play the file).
