Default Strangenes (not in a bad way) Sinse 2.6.x Update

I'm not sure if this is something from my BluRay players or if it's something with Mezzmo since I updated both about the same time...

Any movie that Mezzmo doesn't need to transcode (i.e. it can play it natively on the BluRay player), is displayed with na asterisk (*) in front of it on the playlist.

Is this a Mezzmo thing or is this an "undocumented feature" of the player? Also, it seems like the player (BX58) can play more file types natively now. Again, I am not sure if this is due to the device profile updates for Mezzmo or if the firmware update did this as well.

The asterix is a Sony 'feature' - Mezzmo does not append an asterix onto a file's title. We think Sony AV products append an asterix (*) onto the title of a file when the file is not a DLNA baseline file (MPEG-2, etc.). We also see this on our Sony devices here, but the files still play fine.

Well there you go, you learn something new every day.

I'd noticed the * in the file name and just assumed the Sony player put that before every file.

I've just checked and, you're right, some of the files don't have it. They all play fine though

Yeah. It looks like only the files that need to be transcoded don't have the asterisk and ones that play straight have it.
