Default audio issues still....samsung bdp profile

i had issues with playing a mkv and every 20 mins or so the audio will go out off sync. im using a updated profile for the samsung bdp profile from when i first happened. this is the original thread

    http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...-samsung-d6500

i turned on error logging before i played the movie but im not sure what files you need. i played the movie for about 30 mins and it went out of sync three times.
if i pause the movie then it plays nsync till it happens again. transcoding is turned off

Given Mezzmo is just streaming the MKV file directly to your Samsung device, it could be the actual encoding of the MKV file is either broken in some small way or encoded in such a way that Samsung's firmware gets confused from time-to-time - thus getting out-of-sync with the audio and video channels.

Since you have logging turned on, please zip up all the logs and send them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com. We'll analyze them to see if anything is wrong/strange from Mezzmo server.

Thanks for the logs. They shows that Mezzmo server streamed about 2.6GB of your 9GB MKV file to your Samsung Blu-ray player and I guess you stopped playing the MKV file at that point. The file was streamed without any errors by Mezzmo server, so if your Samsung Blu-ray player had audio sync issues, then the MKV file itself may not be compatible for your Samsung's firmware as I described in my earlier post.

By "audio will go off sync", do you mean the video stutters when playing sometimes, or do you mean that the audio does not match the video (e.g. the person speaking in the movie does not match their lips)? If you mean stuttering, then it could be a bandwidth problem with your home network. Use Ethernet cables if possible or wireless-N with full signal strength if Ethernet is not possible. Also, make sure there's no other computer or software application on your home network that is using excessive bandwidth on your home network whilst you are streaming. That may cause stuttering. Finally, the MKV file does have a quite high bitrate of 10MB/sec. Your Samsung Blu-ray player may be struggling to play files with higher bitrates. If you mean the latter (audio does not match the video), then that does suggest an encoding issue with the MKV file.

the video will play fine and then all of the sudden whatever the last sentence was a person said in the movie will repeat and the audio will be off and i need to pause it to sync it up. i played the same mkv on my samsung un46d6400 tv and there was no issue. could it be that the processor is not as fast in the blu ray player as it is in the tv? i like to stream video through the blu ray player because i think the blu ray player upscales the mkv and the picture looks better than if i stream it through the tv.

Thanks for the further explanation. From your description, it does sound like your Blu-ray player is unable to play your MKV properly. It is most likely due to either the Samsung Blu-ray player's firmware not being able to decode & play the file or the actual encoding of the MKV file being broken in some way.

If you want to use your Samsung Blu-ray player for your DLNA streaming, then you will have no choice but to re-encode the MKV file so that your Blu-ray player can play it. You can re-encode it with a video converter tool, or you can use Mezzmo's pre-transcoding feature to do it for you. To use Mezzmo's pre-transcoding feature, right-click on the file in Mezzmo and click 'Pre-transcode File'. In the Pre-transcode Files dialog, select your device from the list and click 'Choose Formats'. In the Transcoding Formats dialog, choose the bolded format and select the "Force full transcode" checkbox. Click OK and then select the "Pre-transcode file even if they match the device's supported formats" checkbox. Click OK and your transcoding will start. Go to the Transcoding pane in Mezzmo to monitor progress. When transcoding has finished, then try streaming your MKV file again to your Samsung BDP. This time, the pre-transcoded file will be streamed by Mezzmo server and hopefully your Samsung BDP will play it smoothly. Let us know how you go.
