Had a though about adding Queues

I was wondering if it would be practical to create a type of playlist called a queue. It would function as a playlist with all of the same attributes with the addition that if you played an item on the list it would be removed from the list. This should only occur if it was played from that list. So for instance I create a queue for called Fred. I populate that list with shows like xfiles season 1. On a device (it should not matter which device) I open list Fred and play episode 1. That episode is removed from the list. If someone plays episode 2 from another list it does not affect list Fred. If it could be done, it would make tracking which show to watch next very easy. Note that multiple named queues would be needed (I have 9 users and 7+ devices).
