Default Almost all media entries gone on Bravia

    Hi there,

after trying some previous versions of Mezzmo over the years, I found that the latest version has made major progress in supporting my Sony Bravia TVs, which are 2010 models. I eagerly added all my video folders to the Mezzmo database and found that almost all files instantly played flawlessly on my Bravias. Very nice! Then I changed, deleted and added quite a lot of files on my server and I thought it might be a good idea to run a database maintenance. Now all files in the db are fine and up to date, but next to none of them get listed on the Bravias anymore. Most folders show as empty, and for the few files still showing up in one or the other folder I could not find what they might have in common.

    Did I do anything wrong?

    Hi Low,

Please turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Connect to Mezzmo using your TV and browse your playlists/folders. When you see no files appear, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and send them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com. In your email, make a note of some of the files that were not listed.

    Hi,

Thanks for your quick reply, I'll compile all needed information on the weekend. For now, by browsing the active filetype filter with the TV I found that it's at least all mkv files (there are about 2,000 of them in the db) that are not listed, regardless of the actual video or audio formats they contain. I think it's the TV itself that decides not to list them, because one has to look at the rotating thingy in the upper right corner for quite a time before a folder containing only MKVs comes up empty. My few AVIs are there and so are FLV, MOV, ASF, M2TS and others.

Thanks for the additional information, Low. It sounds like your TV is timing out (giving up) when you are trying to browse a folder or playlist that has a large set of files.

We are releasing a new update later today that has some good speed enhancements when browsing and streaming. This may help in your case. When the update becomes available, please try it and let us know if any better.

I updated to v2.6.6 and still MKVs weren't listed on the TV. I don't BTW think its any kind of timeout on the TV side, because small folders containing only a few MKV files got instantly listed as empty.

Then I did a fresh install of v2.6.6 and re-defined my library and all settings from scratch. MKV files were listed again, as they were after every previous fresh install, but this time the functionality of getting MKVs listed on the TV has 'survived' two library maintenance runs so far, an occasion which would let MKVs disappear from the TV with any version pre v2.6.6.

    I'll keep my fingers crossed...
