    Default Samsung BD-C6500 Issues

With the recent issues with the last few versions of Mezzmo, I have begun to really test content/streaming on my Samsung BD-C6500. Regardless of version, (all the 2.6.X) seems to cause skipping issues on some file formats. Unfortunately, I do not know when these files last played correctly. I generally use the Samsung BDP 3D profile even though it is not 3D. Sometimes I have tried the Samsung BDP. Both offer similar skipping results. Also, the BDP 3D profile offers no MP4 support at all. I am wireless but the machine is fairly close to my router with a good connection. Can you help before I decide to dump this machine?

Below are the few sample files

    Thanks

I have a Samsung BD6500 and am using Mezzmo 2.5. Everything works as advertised using my mp4 videos with transcoding disabled. I use the Samsung BDP profile. I do have an ethernet connection.

    UPDATE
Turned off transcoding and the skip problem goes away for either the Samsung BDP 3D or Samsung BDP profile. However, mp4 is not supported by the Samsung BDP 3D profile. And mkv is not supported by the Samsung BDP profile. I have both types of video files. Can I get a profile that plays both along with everything else?

I can try to use a Vulcan mind meld on the two profiles if I have to myself. Hopefully, I don't need too. LOL...

First, thanks for the new profile - Samsung BDP (MKV). The added MKV support works but playback is not smooth. It chops at some points on most videos. Not understanding how this works, could I try a Samsung BDP 3D with added MP4 support?

Also, add me on to the disconnect issue as well. 10-20 minutes in to a video on this device, Mezzmo disconnects.

    Hi mark11,

We'll check the difference between the Samsung BDP and Samsung BDP 3D and send you an updated device profile to try.

We're looking into the disconnect issue now. We're trying to reproduce it with our Samsung Blu-ray player. I'll post back when we have a fix.

Thanks guys. It is the product and support that makes you guys the best... Can't wait to try it out.

BTW - I swapped around devices I own just to further rule out network issues. My Sony SMP N200 plays everything - no issues - where the Samsung BD-C6500 is located.

Thanks for the confirmation on the disconnect. We're testing it now with our Samsung BDP & hopefully we can reproduce the disconnect so we can fix it.

    Hi mark11,

We think we may have found the problem with regards the random disconnects. To confirm this, can you turn on logging and see if you can reproduce a disconnect with your Samsung BDP? Turn on logging in Mezzmo (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging) and restart Mezzmo server. Then, connect to Mezzmo using your Samsung BDP. Stream a video file as you normally do and, when it disconnects, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and send them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

(If you cannot reproduce the disconnect problem when logging in Mezzmo is turned on, let us know since this matches BeFi's experience.)

I will try... I will not have a chance until later in the day. I will send it then.
