Default New User Query - Library sort order

    Hello,

New user to Mezzmo here, one question - is there any way of changing the sort order of the library presented to UPnp/DLNA client?

It seems to be in alphabetical order, eg. Album, Album Artist, All Music Files etc.

Is there a way of changing this so you can customize the order, I've tried drag/drop but it doesn't seem to work?

    Thanks!

    Hi starfire,

There is no method to order your folders & playlists in the current version of Mezzmo (v2.6.7). Several users have requested this also (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...Mezzmo-Library) and we will definitely add it into an upcoming version of Mezzmo.

Mezzmo Android: Install it on your tablet, smartphone, Android TV or Amazon Fire to browse and stream files from your Mezzmo library to all your devices. Full details at http://www.conceiva.com/products/mez...mo_android.asp

Mezzmo for Roku App: Install it onto your Roku to stream files from your Mezzmo library. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...oku_user_guide

    OK great.

One other thing I use in a competitor's product is presenting [A] to [Z] shortcuts to clients.

For example I have a Philips MCI300 stereo with a very small display and scrolling through lots and lots of artist names to get to the one you want is very slow.

Using shortcuts the server presents just an A to Z list of artists eg. on the client once you select artists you would then see A,B,C,D etc. and you choose the one you want, then you are presented with a list of all artists under that letter - makes navigation much much quicker.

    Cheers!

    Hi starfire,

Thanks for the further suggestion. The automated 'rolodex' style listing has also been requested by several users and we are planning on adding this into Mezzmo very soon. For the moment, many Mezzmo users create their own 'rolodex' style playlists in Mezzmo - see this thread http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...ists-in-Mezzmo

    OK, thanks for the pointer.

I guess you cannot reveal any time span for these new features?

btw, when you buy Mezzmo what is the upgrade policy for new versions?

    Hi starfire,

These new features should appear over the next few versions. I cannot give firm dates, but I'd say in the coming months.

    When you purchase Mezzmo:

    • you own your license of Mezzmo for life (never expires & works with as many devices as you have now or in the future)
    • you receive minor updates and bug fixes for free
    • major new releases may be charged and this is determined on a case-by-case basis. To date, we have not charged for any new major version that we have released and the upcoming major new version (Mezzmo v3.0) that we are developing now will be free to all registered users.

Mezzmo v3.1 has been released and a few of the new features are random shuffling on playlists and folders, 'Group By First Letter' to create 'Rolodex'-style playlists to breakdown long lists of files, and various sorting options for all types of playlists. Hmm, having some problems with this.

    I have this hierarchy:
    Album Artist
    Group by First Letter

Yet on my Android phone running Bubbleupnp I do not see A,B, C etc I still see the full album artists name?

Ah, never mind figured it out.

    I needed:

    Group By first Letter
    Album Artist

Great stuff, thanks for adding this!
