    Default DivX not working

PS3 recently released firmware that allows PS3 to play DivX video files. When I tried to play these from the Mezzmo media server PS3 gave me the "unsupported format" screen. I know I can play a DivX disk without a problem. I also made sure there weren't any spaces, long file names, or unusual characters in the files I tried playing. Can you think of a reason this would happen? I was able to play a few other formats, but I do love DivX quality.

    Thank you for the feedback.

One thing to try is to rename the DivX file to have an .avi extension. That should solve the problem (you will have to add it to Mezzmo again though).

Please tell me how it goes.

Play by play... After changing the file extension to.avi PS3 displayed the name of the video, but when I tried playing it I received the unsupported format screen. I then tried searching fo media server again. This time for some reason I was able to play the file. Thanks for the advice.

Thank you - we have corrected this small problem in Mezzmo and the next update will handle the DivX files correctly (there won't be a need to change the extension).

I can provide you with an update sooner if you wish.

That's really nice of you, but I'm currently using the trial software. Looks promising so far. Thanks for the offer Dennis.
