Default Audio Synch Issues - Samsung D5300

What's the process of debugging audio synch issues? My wife mentioned that the last 3 movies she watched, the audio was out of synch. She had to often cycle pause/play for the audio to play correctly.

I'm using Mezzmo along side a Samsung BD D5300.

I have had this issue with a Sony KDL32EX600 TV.

The issue seems to be related to the current version of FFMPEG (not 100% confirmed, but the newest version of FFMPEG seems better).

Try pre-transcoding to a different type?

In my case the pre-transcoding was to MPEGTS which gave a problem, but when using MPEG2VIDEO the syncing was fine.

    See this thread

I don't need to transcode as my BDP D5300 can natively play the files in question. I've never had to transcode files, which is why I find this odd.

If Mezzmo is streaming the file natively to your Samsung device, then the problem most likely is that the Samsung's firmware is not syncing correctly when decoding and playing the files. When streaming natively, Mezzmo simply delivers the file to your device without any changes.

    Just to make sure:

    • What version of Mezzmo are you running?
    • What device profile in Mezzmo is assigned to your Samsung device? Go to the Media Devices dialog to see this.
    • Please post the FFmpeg information on one of the files. To do this, right-click on the file in Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'.

Thanks for the information. All looks fine. The MKV file will be streamed directly to your Samsung BDP without any transcoding.

If possible, we'd like to see a set of logs when you stream this file, so we can analyze if anything is going wrong during streaming. Please turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Stream the video to your Samsung BDP and when you notice the audio is out of sync, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and send them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

I've been trying to replicate this with only one title that I had issues with and I'm having a hard time with it (to limit what titles show up in the log files).

Basically, I removed my folders from Mezzmo and added a test folder with one of the titles that I was having issues with. After watching it for 45 minutes without any glitches, I tried with another which also didn't cause any issues by itself. Odd.

Possibly your Samsung BDP has been turned off/on and that has corrected any possible Samsung BDP firmware glitch that made it lose audio sync.

Anyway, if the problem comes back, please send us the logs & we'll analyze them.
