Default [how to] Stop next video file from automatically starting

    Hi,
I am hoping someone can help me with this topic. I could not find any information relating to this topic anywhere so I’m not sure if the problem’s localised to my set-up or the keywords in my searches are too common and keep coming back with obscure results but I’m finding this ‘feature’ to be annoying.

I recently purchased a Samsung UE55ES8000 TV [which I am very happy with], to date I have worked out most of the kinks so pretty-much everything is working fine except for when a video file ends, and the next file starts automatically. I do not want to automatically play the next file; Is there any way to turn the ‘auto-play’ off?

    Regards,
    Brent

    Hi Brent

I do not believe this is a Mezzmo issue.

On my Sony TV there is a setting to "shuffle" the videos. When this is turned on the TV requests the next video from Mezzmo when the current one ends.

    Cheers

That's got to be coming from your Samsumg. It may be that you have to use toe Ok button and not the play arrow button to play videos on your Samsung. I know my Netgear streamer boxes will play the videos in order starting with the current selection, if I play using the play button. If I hit the Ok button to select, it just plays one video and then stops.

Hi Mark, thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure who owned the issue so I also posted on an owners thread for my TV received a reply saying "This wouldn't be a TV issue so you might want to post a new thread in a different section or search that question regarding the Mezzmo."

OK - so I now find myself in the proverbial situation which includes: own; tail; and, chase but all-good - hoping to find a simple solution and I'll post a reply if I find one.

I'm still in the money-back period for Mezzmo so maybe I should try a different media server and see if that fixes the problem - but I really like features that Mezzmo has to offer - do you have any suggestions on other Media Servers to try?

    Cheers,
    B

Hi jbinkley - thanks for the reply. Acting on your suggestion: I just tried hitting the play button on the remote rather than the OK button (OK button being the one i usually use) but still had the same outcome - video file ended and next one began automatically.

Sadly this is not the case but I actually thought would be a pretty cool feature if I could use the 'Play' button to play a single file and the 'OK' (or Return) button to play folder folder in a sequential order - but, as I said at the start of the sentence "sadly this is not the case"...

Playing all videos in a playlist or folder is a feature of your TV and not Mezzmo. We don't have a Samsung E-series TV, but we do have D-series, C-series and B-series and I assume your TV will be similar in operation. When a video starts playing (streaming via Mezzmo), press the Tools button on your remote control and navigate to the "Repeat" setting. You can choose "Repeat All" (plays all videos in the folder/playlist - which is what you seem to have now), "Repeat Title" (repeats the same video over and over) or "None" (no repeat playing - which is what you seem to prefer).

Mezzmo Android: Install it on your tablet, smartphone, Android TV or Amazon Fire to browse and stream files from your Mezzmo library to all your devices. Full details at http://www.conceiva.com/products/mez...mo_android.asp

    Hi Paul,

You are correct - the TV does have "Repeat" settings but the setting is already set to "Off" (or None).

If it's definitely not a Mezzmo issue, I'll get in contact with Samsung and see if they can help. I'll try too post any info I receive, just in case any others experience similar issues with the Samsung E-series and Mezzmo set-up

    Cheers,

Thanks for keeping us updated, Brent. I am sure other Samsung E-series TV owners will find this information useful.
