    Talking Multiple issues

    Hi,

I've multiple issues while using Mezzmo on my computer:

    1. When changing the images representation of my videos to a custom one (artworks), they are correctly displayed in Mezzmo but not on my Samsung SmartTV UE40D6500 (device profile: Samsung D)

      Image taken from Mezzmo

Image taken from my Samsung TV: images are not displaying correctly: they are too large

You could fix this issue by sending a fake image to the Samsung TV: by adding transparent borders, you can avoid the TV to enlarge the image.
    2. It would be great to have some settings to change the way videos are named: I mean I name them using the filename and their name tag is often wrong: thsi lead to wrong titles I need to manually modify in Mezzmo
    3. I would like to have an option to share the shared folders on different accounts. I mean I've an account 'account1' where I add C:/videos as a shared folder. It would be great to have an option to allow the 'account2' to see the shared folder and be able to modify it, delete it, whatever it. (Sort of shared settings between users)
    4. I've some slowdown issues: it happens that my film interrupts a few seconds for buffering where AllShare was working perfectly with no slow down issue (actually the only issue AllShare doesn't suffer of).
    5. When you delete a file from the Mezzmo library and then click on update (only updating new files), the deleted file is added again: Mezzmo should keep track of a kind of history to know which file was removed from the library to avoid to add it again.

Thank you for taking my issues and suggestions in account.

Thanks for your questions. Some answers:

    1. Mezzmo server tells your TV the correct dimensions of the thumbnail, but it seems certain models of Samsung TVs are stretching them. We'll fix this up in the upcoming Mezzmo release.
    2. Mezzmo v3.0 will have better title extraction from your file paths for videos (i.e. movies and TV shows).
    3. I'm not sure if this answers you question - on your computer, you can use different Windows user accounts to have different Mezzmo libraries and different Mezzmo servers. This allows you to list more one Mezzmo server on your devices, each with their own Mezzmo library. This is handy for different people in your home that have different media files that they want to stream. You can change the name of your Mezzmo server in the Media Server Settings dialog so that they are easily identified (e.g. Mezzmo Paul, Mezzmo John, etc.).
    4. When you play a video (that stutters), go to your PC and look at the Transcoding pane in Mezzmo. Do you see the file listed in the Transcoding pane and it is being transcoded on-the-fly? Is Mezzmo saying that transcoding is too slow? If this is the case, then you should consider pre-transcoding your video file before streaming it since your CPU & memory may not be powerful for realtime transcoding. Right-click on the video file in Mezzmo and click 'Pre-transcode Files'. In the Pre-transcode Files dialog, choose your device and click 'Choose Formats'. In the Transcoding Formats dialog, choose the bolded format and click OK. Click OK to start pre-transcoding and monitor progress in the Transcoding pane. When transcoding is complete, try streaming the file again to your TV. If it still stutters, let us know.
    5. I guess you have added a folder into your Mezzmo library. Folders are dynamically read by Mezzmo whenever you access them in the tree in Mezzmo or browse them from your device. So even though you delete the file from your Mezzmo library, the next time to access the folder, Mezzmo will pick up that there's a file that is not in your Mezzmo library and add it back into your Mezzmo library - since the folder in Mezzmo is a direct representation of the folder on your harddisk. If you do not want the file listed, then move (or remove) it from the folder on your harddisk.

    Hi,
    Thank you for your answers.

    1-2: OK
3: I mean I don't want to have different Mezzmo libraries for my computer: I would like than any account can change the files I shared and add some. An option for this would be great
4: This video is not transcoded as it is natively supported by my TV. Maybe my home network is too slow but I can't recall encountering such issue before with AllShare
    5. I understand what you mean but it would be great to have an option when deleting such as 'Never add this file again?'

    Bes Regards

    Hi trialtest,

    Further response:

    3. Mezzmo us designed to run per-user on your computer so users have the flexibility for running multiple Mezzmo libraries in your home. We'll discuss having an option to have one Mezzmo library per computer as you suggest.

    4. If the file is being streamed natively and it is stuttering, then it could be your home network performance/bandwidth. We recommend using Ethernet cables to connect your PC and DLNA devices to your home network for the fastest and most stable streaming. If you use wireless, then it is best to choose wireless-N with full signal strength - otherwise you will get stuttering with HD videos.

We do have a patch for Mezzmo v2.7.1.0 that does improve streaming performance - especially in relation to sometimes getting disconnects and stuttering. Email us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com and we will provide it to you for testing.
