    Default No FF or RW

    Hello

I have a Samsung UE46ES7000 TV and everything with Mezzmo is working well except I cannot FF or RW a streamed film. I have tried most formats including mkv, avi, mp4 but to no avail. I can pause OK but thats it. The films are not being transcoded as the TV supports all the above formats natively and if I put them on a USB stick they all FF and RW so I think the problem lies with a setting somewhere.

    Regards

    Marshall

I've had that issue as well with my Sony KDL 32" TV, but i've also had issues with pausing on occasion too. Again putting them onto a stick works.
But i have found that Transcoded films work (even if they dont need to be transcoded), so thats a workaround.
Maybe the soon to be released upgrade will fix this.

Well just spoke to Samsung and they have confirmed the firmware does not support it. How crap on a modern flagship TV. I have noticed other posts where people have had success with other media servers but I have tried them all with no success. I am able to time skip but would much prefer the ability to just FF or RW.

I have no idea why Samsung do not implement FF/REW using their remote control, but it remains a constant frustration with Samsung owners.

Tip: Later model Samsung TV models (D-series and E-series) have much better time search features than the older A/B/C-series TVs. On your E-series TV, when you are playing a video, press the Tools button on your remote control and use the Time Search feature to navigate to any part of the video that you want. That should allow you to quickly jump to sections in the video.

Thanks paul. Also you can use the single right and left arrows on the remote and this FF's and RW's the film.
