    Default Directv HR20 Help

I can view the computer and Mezzmo fine on my receiver but it states no files found. I have my Libraries setup and they are shared and can be viewed by other computers in my network. I get the notice popups about the receivers trying to connect to mezzmo when the server is started. I click the link to add the device but I just get the same device screen if I just clicked the icon. So I've gone in and added the device but it doesn't save. So I'm at a loss here trying this out over TVersity which seemed like a joke and a half. At least with it I could view files and play them.

We'll help you get up and running. One reason for not seeing any files on your Directv is that the files may be coming from your NAS or another computer and Mezzmo server may not be able to deliver them due to access permissions. We have an FAQ that explains how to fix this - http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...r-home-network.

If that does not help, then please turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Connect to Mezzmo from your Directv and try to browse and play some files. When that fails, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

Well I'm running Mezzmo straight from my game rig which is accessing files located internally on the same computer so there is no access to another computer or NAS device needed. So I assume I should follow the next link and turn on logging.

Well now the app isn't even working right. Anything that was in the left panes is now gone. The only pane that shows anything is the bottom right browser pane.
Various things now cause the application to crash so I'm thinking something is messed up with the files. Heck at least TVersity runs and doesn't crash.....

Well deleted the app and downloaded the newest version. What do you know Its working correctly. Now does Mezzmo crap out if a video is paused on the directv dvr too long like TVersity? Is this just a DVR issue? I found out we can't FF and RW on the receiver which if you ask me Directv is way behind not to mention the 845x480 max resolution of streamed video files is a joke also. Yet they claim to have the best service lol.

Glad you are up and running now. Directv's are a little limited when it comes to media streaming. We do know they have problems trying to FF/REW & Pause/Resume.

In Mezzmo, go to the Media Devices dialog and check the device profile assigned to your Directv. Make sure it is using the 'DirecTV HR20-21 (LPCM)' device profile as this will match the performance of your Directv unit. Edit your device in the Media Devices dialog to change the device profile. Restart you Mezzmo server after making any device changes.

The FF/Rew is an issue with DirecTV IRDs. There is no way for any DLNA server to enable FF/Rew on a DirecTV box. I've also had no trouble streaming an HD picture to my HR24 & H24 boxes. Everything has to be transcoded for the DTV boxes and with my particular setup I can't have it set higher than 1280 x 720 to be able to transcode on the fly, but it certainly works in HD.

I've had no problems with pausing for any length of time. At least that I've noticed.

Excellent feedback, smitbret. We don't have a Directv unit here so your knowledge & experience is much appreciated.
