Default Mezzmo media server not recognized by Samsung HT-C5530 Dolby set

    Hi,

i have a problem using Mezzmo media server. My Samsung HT-C5530 dolby set doesn't recognize the media server. I can only see the WMP12 media server, but when i stop that service, the set doesn't show any other media servers.
When i start Mezzmo, i see the dolby set (with the right IP) in the screen where i can allow/deny share connection, and it says it is allowed.
Any idea why the media server cannot be seen by my new dolby set? I didn't change the default port, maybe there can be a problem?

    Kind regards,
    Dave

    Hi Dave,

One of the first things to check would be the firewall. Can you try turning your firewall off for a minute and try to connect to Mezzmo from the device?

Also, with firewall still turned on, go to Media Server Settings and check if the Firewall button in there is enabled or disabled. If it's enabled, please click on it to open up the necessary ports.

Ok thanks, will check that this weekend. When I installed it the first time the Firewall button was disabled. The second time the button was enabled, so i did press it. But maybe taking the whole windows firewall out will make a difference. I already have disabled my router firewall. Will get back with the answer.

It seemed like the Windows Firewall button popped-up the second time i started the program. So i pressed the button and i could connect to the media server through the samung ht-c5530. Though playing movies is still a big problem. I can start a avi file, sometimes, but it doesn't show the whole playtime of the movie, only like 00:00:01/00:01:17, so it seems that the movie only lasts 1minute en 17 seconds. After that it just stops. When i start the movie again, the time is different, but never the total time. Another issue is that the movie always seems to play in 4:3. When i start the movie on the pc (monitor also fullHD 1920*1080) it shows the movie with black banners above and beneath the actual picture. When i start it through Mezzmo on the tv, i have black banners on the left and right, which takes the whole screen ratio out of proportion. Any idea where this goed wrong? I use the latest release (15 days trail).

Sounds like it's trying to transcode, but transcoding is not fast enough. In any case, can you please send a message to support, as there's an updated device profile for Samsung C's available and we'll proceed from there.
