    Default Mezzmo 3.0 device profiles

    hi there,
has something changed how mezzmo handles custom device profiles? i've made a profile for the previous version based on the samsung bdp file where i just deleted the dca paragraph so mezzmo could transcode dts to dd5.1. i've tried the same with v3.0 but can't get mezzmo to recognize the device profile. it just won't show up in the device list.
    thx for any help

ok instead of duplicating the samsung bdp i've changed it to decode dts to dd5.1. now i have another problem. if a mkv is transcoded this way mezzmo won't deliver normal srt subtitles to the bdp. untranscoded files work fine with external srts. i haven't changed anything in the new subtitle menu.

When you create a new device profile (or copy an existing one to create a new device profile), it is important that the <guid>XXXXX</guid> section is updated with a new GUID. Don't use the same GUID as an existing device profile - otherwise you will get the 'not listing my device profile' problem you mention.

Regarding your device profile change, we'll fix this up for you. Email us your modified device profile (.PRF) and the FFmpeg information for the video file and we'll work out what's going wrong. Right-click on the video in Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'. Email the details and what you'd like to do to support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

    hi paul
thanks for your fast help as always. right now i rolled back to 2.7.1.0 because of the subtitle issue with my samsung BD-D5300 so i can't really troubleshoot on my side. what i did before was deleting the "<format id="dca" encode="0"></format>" line in the bdp device profile.. tried checking and unchecking the burn in subtitle option in the mezzmo gui but both times the srt subtitles wouldn't stream with the transcoded movie.

OK - thanks. We'll replicate this here and test with our Samsung BDP.
