    Default unsupported file format

    Whattami doin wrong?

I have a bunch of movies in wmv format. If I share the folder and open it with my samsung galaxy they play perfect. But if I put them in a playlist and access them from mezzmo, I get "unsupported file format". I can't play them from my sony bdp either. Isn't mezzmo supposed to transcode to the right format?

Download the latest update (v3.0.1.0) and that should help you get up and running.

Hmmm, I uninstalled 3.0.0.0, then installed 3.0.1.0. Same result. MP4 and WMV come up with an error. MPG plays perfect.

Perhaps you could use the updated 3.0 BDP profiles I was e-mailed (see this thread); I reverted to those after updating to 3.0.1.

Please post the FFmpeg information on the files that don't play. Right-click on the file in Mezzmo and click 'Get Ffmpeg Information'.

    *bump*

Update - I'm only having the problem on my Samsung Galaxy. On my Sony BDP the problem is lag. I can successfully watch an MPEG or WMV or MP4 if it is 640X480, but if the video is 720p or larger there's a good chance the Sony will not be able to open it because the wireless connection is too slow. I'm going to try running a network cable next week. The Samsung just won't play though. I've taken the Samsung and stood five feet from the wireless router and it just doesn't like what Mezzmo is sending it.

Please send us a set of logs when steaming to your Galaxy and we'll find out what's wrong. Turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Connect to Mezzmo using your Samsung Galaxy and try to stream the WMV video. When it fails, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all your logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

It appears from the logs that the problem is because Mezzmo has detected the device and assigned the Samsung C profile, if you try changing this profile to Samsung Galaxy Tab or since this device uses android try using BubbleUPnP and MX Video Player with the MX Video Player profile you should get better results.

    WooHoo!

That was the trick. I went into the Mezzmo settings, found my device and saw that it was indeed using the Samsung C profile. I changed the profile to the Galaxy Tab and it now streams perfectly!

I still have some other issues and questions on using Mezzmo, but this works well enough that I'm going to go ahead and purchase it this weekend. Thanks for the help everyone.
