Just wondering if anyone has managed to get the Sony BDP-S370 to play WAV or FLAC files correctly???

Wav files yes do work, FLAC is not on the list of supported types. That doesn't mean they won't work I just haven't tested them. If you have some patience you will get a working profile shortly.

With help from our users the Sony BDP profile has been further tweaked and will be available as part of the next official update. If you wish to try it before then, please send a message to support.

Hi JohnM, would you mind sharing your profile with me. I can't get WAV files to play using the LPCM codec - for some reason they are always transcoded to 64kbps MP3's.

If WAV files are supported natively and some of yours are being transcoded, perhaps they're not included in the device profile. Can you please post FFmpeg information on such files and I'll add them to the device profile for you to try.

    Default Sony BDV-E870 and AVCHD

I am looking for a solution to play AVCHD via network on a Sony BDV-E870 Blu-ray Home Theater.... I think its DLNA capabilities are similar to the BDP-570. I have also been in contact with Sony support, and discovered that the formats supported by DLNA are very limited... compared to the formats the device support via CD/DVD/USB. I find this very disappointing, but unfortunately I discovered this limitation too late and cannot return the device anymore.

So, now I am looking for some alternatives.... and just today I learned that Mezzmo exist - and that it might be able to "add" some of the lacking formats to the Sony devices, by the use of transcoding.

I am using Windows Home Server in my network, based on a HP SmartMedia EX490 - and before starting to change too much on the HP default installation (which include Twonky) I would like to check if someone has some experience with this setup:

    - Is it possibly with Mezzmo to playback AVCHD files on a Sony BDV-E870?
    - If yes, how is the quality - will it be HD or downscaled to SD?
    - Is a HP SmartMedia EX490 (with Intel Celeron 2.2 GHz) powerfull enough to handle the transcoding needed?

    Thanks a lot!
    Ole
