Default Support for Sony BDP-570 Bluray player

    Hi,

Can anyone suggest a good profile for the above blurray player?

Every time I try and play an HD mkv file with DTS audio I get 'error corrupt file'

If I can get it to work better than wmp12 (which works but downmixes the audio to stereo) I think I shall purchase a full copy.

    Many thanks

    Hi,

Please post FFmpeg information about that file here and send a message to support and I'll send you an updated device profile for the Sony BDP.

    Default Me Too...

I have the Sony 370 Blu Ray player and would like a profile. The 370,470, 570 and Bx37 and all very similar differing only in extra features such as wireless and 3D, one profile should fit all.

I don't think that the players support Matroska - looking at the spec here: http://www.sony.co.uk/product/blu-ra...TechnicalSpecs I don't see it, so that file will need to be transcoded. Most probably transcoding is failing for one reason or another - can you please generate a diagnostic log of trying to play that file and send it in to support (at) conceiva (dot) com for investigation? I suspect I know the issue and I'll send you a patch and an updated device profile for the player then.

The manual is not quite clear on formats, it does say this:

    MPEG-4 AVC extensions supported: .mp4 .mkv, .m4v, m2ts, mts

Now, those may only be supported via USB or disk, I have no idea.

All those formats work from USB, vie tried it and there are no problems. I spoke to the Sony support and they told me it would ONLY play from some divx HD container, it won't do anything else. But then they also said it wouldn't do xvid either which I think I have had working, so not much help really.

I took the Sony back to the shop and replaced it with an LG bd570. This one works great with Twonky, but with mezzmo it just powers off as soon as it makes a connection to the server. :-(

We have a patch here for the LG to stop that - just e-mail support.

Usually formats playable from a USB and via DLNA are a bit different, unfortunately.

I have the Sony BDPS370. I have been able to use generic device 4 to view the m4v files for the kids iPod. They are very SD 640x360 h264/mp4 files. The documentation states:

.avi, divx - Canada only models

    mpeg2 - .mpg, .mpeg, .m2ts, .mts
    mpeg4 - .mkv, .mp4, .m4v, .m2ts, .mts
Windows media 9 - .wmv, .asf

Tomorrow I will try to cap the agent info.

Thank you for the formats. We do have a device profile for the Sony BDP here, if you send a message to support (at) conceiva (dot) com, I can send it to you to try.
