Exclamation MKV files don't play audio - Did before!

    Hello!

Thank you for Mezzmo, it's a AWESOME product and I'm using it pretty often.

    I just have problem.

The other night I was watching some movies, and it worked perfect, nothing wrong.

The day after I started the movie again (didn't watch it all), and then there were no audio!
I tried playing other MKV files, and it doesn't work with those either.

But I can get audio from every other format.

I've read I needed to do some transcoding-changes, which I did.
Then the audio showed up, but it said that my files was over 110GB, which they aren't, they're 4-6GB usually.
This meant I couldn't fast forward or anything.

    I'm streaming to my BoxeeBox.

    Thank you!

    Hi phanion,

Please post the FFmpeg information for one of the MKV files that does not have any audio. To do this, right-click on the MKV file in Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'.

What device profile are you using for your BoxeeBox? Go to the Media Devices dialog to see this.

The reason that you see 110GB as the size on your BoxeeBox is that Mezzmo is transcoding your MKV on-the-fly and your device wants to know the file size upfront - but Mezzmo does not know the file size of the transcoded file since it it only just transcoding it (creating it). So, Mezzmo tells your device a large number to trick the device to continue playing the file. So you can ignore the 110GB size. When transcoding on-the-fly, some devices don't let you FF/REW.

One workaround for you is to pre-transcode your MKV file before streaming it to your BoxeeBox. Right-click on the MKV file in Mezzmo and click 'Pre-transcode Files'. In the Pre-transcode Files dialog, select your device and click Choose Formats. Select the bolded format and click OK. Once the file has been fully transcoded, then try streaming it. You should see a proper file size and you should be able to FF/REW.

I'm using "Generic Device (NTSC)" for my BoxeeBox.

Haven't been able to find Boxee in the list.

I have tried to pre-transcode a file, but it still didn't give any audio.
But it worked once before, and I've even tried running the same movie again, it still doesn't give any audio.

Perhaps we will make a Boxee device profile and that will work better. Please do the following: Turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Connect to Mezzmo using your Boxee and try to play a video. After it plays for a minute or so, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com. Also, if you know the video, music, photo and subtitle formats that the Boxee supports, then please include this information in your email. It will help us create the device profile.
