Thread: date created playlist

    Default date created playlist

there are few things from tversity that I am finding hard to live without, one of them is the date added. With the tv shows that we add it was very handy to look at the date and see what was added. This also allows to easily see what is new. Recently added is nice but if you are doing a lot of updates it can get a little cluttered and this feature is one that is invaluable to myself and family.

Secondly is the tracking on if you left off in a show. With kids it is not uncommon to have them stop a show to do something and then return to it. Having this tracked on the server side easily allows the show to continue. Granted it would not be an indefinate amount of time but it can be change or set to a limit.

I am enjoying the use of the software so far and have found only a few issues.

In the Mezzmo application, you change the view to Details view and that lets you see the 'Date Created' column for all your files. In Details View, right-click on the header at the top of the view and click 'Customize Columns'. In the Customize View dialog, select 'Created' and click the '< Add' button. Click OK and it will be added to the list of columns displayed. You can click the 'Created' column header to sorted your files by this date.

On your device, you can use the Recently Added playlists to see the last 50 files that have been added to your Mezzmo library for Videos, Music and Photos. If you find these playlists limited in their use, then you can easily modify them. In Mezzmo, right-click on 'Recently Added' and click click Properties. You will see that is is a smart playlist and you can modify the attributes as you wish. You can also create additional playlists based on the date added if you wish. Click 'Create Playlist' -> 'Smart Playlist' to create a new smart playlist.

I have played with the playlist but two issues that I have 1) not able to create folder for each date and 2) xbox doesn't sort by date created which is why it would be great if there was a playlist that you can create to have the folder as a date created or to allow xbox to view the files in sorted by created date. Recently play list is also a nice view but again if you have a lot of stuff added it can get a little muddled.

Moving stuff into this new system overloads the recently added which then becomes a problem for seeing what is new.

Understand. We'll look into the Xbox 360 and see if there's any way to get files listed in different ways other than just by title.
