Default New to Mezzmo. Trying to create a list of Actors.. HELP

Hi All, I'm very new to Mezzmo. Is it possible to list all your movies by Actors? What I'd llike to be able to do is to create a list of individual actors and then by clicking on certain actors name, I'd like to see all the movies that he or she plays in. Is it at all possible?
so far I haven't had any luck.

    Thanks

    Hi BobbyLou,

Mezzmo does collect the actor information when you add your files into Mezzmo. If you right-click on a video in Mezzmo and click Properties, you can see the Artist edit box in the Properties dialog where actor information is stored.

You can create a smart playlist in Mezzmo where you list all the movies starring (say) Tommy Lee Jones. To do this click on 'Video' in the tree in Mezzmo and click 'Create Playlist' -> 'Smart Playlist'. In the Smart Playlist Properties dialog, enter a name for your playlist (e.g. 'Movies with Tommy Lee Jones') and then add a rule as follows:

'File type' 'video' (then click the '+' button to add another rule)
    'Artist' 'contains' 'Tommy Lee Jones'

Click OK and then you will have a smart playlist appear under 'Video' in the tree in Mezzmo that lists all the videos where 'Tommy Lee Jones' is listed as one of the actors.

You can edit this smart playlist any time by right-clicking on it in the tree in Mezzmo and clicking Properties.

Thanks very much for the info Paul.
The only problem is that I have over a thousand movies and I believe close to 8000 actors.
I thought I could list them automatically like the way Wild Media Server does. I'm currently trying both softwares. Mezzmo has better felxability. I tried listing the Actors by creating an Active play list. But the problem is that Mezzmo considers the whole slew of actor's names as one lising. To be honest with you it's kind of impossible to create a smart play list for each actor. May be what I'm trying to accomplish could be a Wish list item.

    Hi BobbyLou,

Understand the problem with so many actors. Users do use smart playlists for listing movies under certain genres and this works since there are fewer to manage as compared to actors. What you want to do has been requested by quite a few users and we're planning to add this feature into an upcoming version of Mezzmo. We'll let you list actors, genres, directors, etc. separately so that you can use them in active playlists. We'll hopefully be able to implement this feature soon.
